I am soooo sick and tired of seeing all this garbage rolling in the back door (perfumes, stuffed animals, fleece blankets) as well as these sleazy liquidators running the show. Can't wait till it's all over and done with.

I saw a sign at the Palo Alto, CA location that said they are hiring temp workers for all shifts.

Do you think it would be worth it to work there? I'm in school but could use some extra $.
Does anyone know if new/temps get minimum wage (~8 ish) or is it a few bucks higher?

Don't know if this has happened to any other Borders employees, but I did not get paid last Friday (July 29). My last work date was July 12 and it was suppose to be my final paycheck, but it never showed up at the store or my house. It has been mentioned in a post/comment before, but I just wanted to remind you all that there is a facebook page out there with almost 6,700 current and former Borders Group employees. Liquidators will promise the world to try to get people to
not quit but what’s the real story about the closing bonus? From any stores that closed how much did you
receive, was it 2 weeks pay? 1 week pay?

Was it taxed into a smaller amount that you expected?

Did the liquidator make any other promises to keep people
from not quitting?

Thought you all might like to hear what's going on in our world. We are working 10 hours a day plus another 8 Saturday. Next week we've been told to be prepared to work Sat & Sun. Will we get anything if were part of this current mass-closing; any word on severance?   Some say yes and some say no!

 I thought the purpose of the liquidation is to generate revenue from which the creditor's outstanding bills will get paid.  What is the so-called "buyers premium" fee that gets added to purchases of store furniture and fixtures during the liquidation?
