My mother broke her hip almost three weeks ago. It was just below the joint, so it could be pinned back together pretty easily. That part was a good thing, but the healing process takes quite a while. She's having to learn to walk all over again, getting the muscles working to do so ( Read more... )

I had to leave Seadog Nights and Gypsy Carnival on Friday for a last minute appointment with an Internal Medicine doctor. In retrospect, I should have insisted that the appointment happen after the event, as I ended up trying hard not to think about the result of that visit.
