Back from Canada, had a lot of fun and somehow didn't break my bank?!? Discovered that Capital One charges no additional fees above the straight conversion rate on international charges. While I love Livejournal and continue to use and read it, smaller updates have tended to gravitate towards Facebook since sadly that's where a lot of people gravitated. I don't like Facebook or its policies, but I have begrudgingly used it. Now Google+ is out, I have an account, and it looks to make a swell replacement for the kinds of things ( Read more... ) -
Confirmed Mulberries!
Picked down a leaf from the mystery tree in the backyard to confirm my suspicions that it's a mulberry tree. After some white belt level google-fu I've confirmed it's mulberries! Now I want to figure out what to do with them. I've never done jam before but it sounds like a good idea to me! -

Happy Canada Day and Fourth of July weekend! I spent the afternoon running about purchasing new tools for the house and learning to use them. Cut down the legs of my grill and drilled some new holes into it. Mounted one of the two pairs of wheels before realizing I need more cotter pins to finish the project. Firsts of the Year
It's summer here in New Hampshire as far as I'm concerned, with 70 to 80 degree days. As mentioned previously Wednesday was the first day of the year out on the river with the kayak. Kayaking
Took the kayak out for the first time this year on the Nashua River down by Mines Falls. Saw a Red Winged Blackbird and a Blue Heron (very close, yikes), then crept up onto a young beaver tearing down reeds and dragging them into his home. Watching the birds
Kei has always loved bird watching; I've never really understood it. But I bought her a feeder a month or two back and set it up in the backyard. Since then we've seen a large variety of different birds in our backyard, and I think I'm starting to understand. It's a lot of fun watching them and identifying them. FC Hotel Room Got!
Spoiled this post already with the title. Have acquired a two double bed room at the Hilton. Only there Thursday to Monday this year. Trying to save my days off for a trip to Hawaii later in 2012. :)
