Packing is a nightmare.

As I lie in bed, typing this entry, sniffing the aroma of the food that is wafting through the house, I wished I could capture this scene in my heart forever.

My 6 months in Shanghai is coming to an end soon, and I would like to take some to reflect and to record some thought I have of these few months.

I think it really feels like winter/autumn in Shanghai now. It is so cold here that I walk  run hunch backed when I am out. Me thinks it is the wind that makes it all unbearable.

I am heading home earlier than expected! Not too confirm about the exact dates and details, but definitely returning home before end of January. It is sad, heading back ( Read more... )

There are 2 zoos in Shanghai, one is the Shanghai zoo, and one is the Shanghai Wildlife Zoo. The later has a safari area where animals are free to roam about as if they are in their natural habitat without any cages, while the former is just exhibits. So we went to the Wildlife Zoo because it sounds more interesting.

There is a pretty place called 朱家嘴 in Shanghai. It is a water village, think Venice of the East. We initially wanted to go there, but it is really at the very very outskirts of Shanghai and probably needs like 3-4 hours to get there, so we settle for something similar but smaller called 七宝镇.

We went for Japanese buffet after we got our "scholarship" money from some government agency to finance our working stint here. Before coming, we research quite abit about good Japanese restaurants in Shanghai from dianping (equivalent to Singapore's Hungrygowhere). And we found a nice nice 居酒屋 that serves Japanese Buffet with free flow alcohol!

The weather in Shanghai  now is marvelous, it is cooling and windy, yet not biting cold. It is just so... nice. It feels like being enveloped in this cool breeze the whole day. Makes you feel happy! Okie, time to stock up on stockings, scarf, gloves, ear muffs, boots and pumps!
