Nicole, Ed, and I saw Andy Jackson at Harper's Ferry on Sunday. It was really great, he did all Hot Rod Circuit songs, and they sounded amazing. Most notable: Radio Song, Power of Vitamins, Flight 89, and Safely.

I was happy Joe was there to stumble around and forget the words. I'm excited for Andy's new band with Fred from TBS.

In January I took a stab at Alton Brown's recipe for homemade protein bars. They were ok but honestly tasted a lot like chalky/floury protein bars, not delicious and palatable like I wanted them to be.

I watched the Boston Marathon in April, as I normally do, and revelled at how amazing the runners are. It motivated me to push my running career beyond a few miles on the treadmill each week and the occasional 5K, and get serious. Next stop: my very first 10K. John & I went and saw Ben Folds and the Boston Pops at Boston Symphony Hall on Friday.

The show was killer, as always, Ben's voice is so amazingly pure, I never get tired of seeing him perform.

This weekend we trekked out to Marlborough to John's batizado (capoeira belt test). What a gorgeous drive. Made me want to have a beautiful fall foliage wedding out there, I got lost in the colors and quaintness of it all. But I digress.

Despite starting the first quarter 21-0, the Patriots busted out a win (38-27) against the New York Giants in preseason game 4.
