Taemin wasn't one to fall in love.
Taemin wasn’t one to fall in love. He kept his heart hidden beneath soft hands and coy smiles. He was practical. There was no such thing as love; that was just concealed lust and desire.
If Taemin had to put words to it, that was how he’d describe his relationship with Kibum: lust and passion mixed with a mutual and subtle abuse of their shortcomings. Love never made it into the equation.
It was a wonder they even worked. They were both elusive, too afraid of rejection to stay too long in one place, too afraid to grow attached, yet Taemin had never stayed with anyone as long as he had with Kibum.
He might have been afraid if it hadn’t felt so safe. He knew Kibum was just as likely to run away, but a part of him felt that he wouldn’t, that Kibum was just as involved, just as secure, in their farce of a relationship.
Maybe it was the toothbrush lying on his bathroom counter, the clothes in his closet that Kibum had left behind, the words traced into the foggy mirror before hastily being wiped away. Whatever it was, it screamed commitment to Taemin, and he didn’t know if that was okay.
