Okay, my panning between characters works much better in this one.  I turned two cips into 3d layers and added an animated camera to pan back and forth between them which makes it feel more realistic since the camera is pivoting on a fixed point instead of sliding back and forth like it was on a dolly.  I forgot to white balance between takes so ( Read more... )

Okay, I tried to get creative with my composition shot... this is the best composition shot I've done, but I added in fake camera movements but it didn't work and looks clumsy. Due to that, I am refilming parts 2 and 3. Since part 1 is short and the main joke is at the end, I don't think the clumsiness distracts from the content.

This episode presented some unique challenges. First, it was the first time I shot someone else's script. This created a weird pressure because I didn't want any of my technical inexperience to make it less than it could be. Not a strong script, not a lot different in the setup, I did try to add some variance with the shots, having the camera on one character while another was talking.  I attempted to help distinguish who was talking by having the shot start on that character before switching and then moving the stereo balance to one side or the other to give a clue as ( Read more... )

What I express on LJ is pretty much my pure uncensored self that I really don't want to share to the whole world.  LJ now allows people commenting on Friends Locked posts to Tweet or Add to Twitter and Facebook.  This completely defeats the point of Locking posts.
