So, I'm reading some of the discussion on one of the lifeboat sites (not liminal nation, which Ive yet to have a good look at)  and thinking it all looks much more fun, much less tired and defensive. Any chance of an invite?

I don't have anything deep to say, but I do have a party trick. For those of you with Firefox (maybe this works with IE too, I dont know) type in "is " in the little google search box in the top right. Include the space and don't hit return so that you get a list of popular searches starting with "is".

I've finally got to the stage with my teaching and spanish that the students are actually happy to have me as a lecturer, as opposed to annoyed at the foreigner who doesn't understand them properly.

Its actually been a very odd experience in that the power dynamic of the classroom has been oddly reversed since I had been rather concerned about ( Read more... )

So there I am with Kelly, eyeing up some seafood on a plate I just ordered and I say, "Don't worry, Kelly, these are Fish Fingers. They only look like evil tentacled octupus waving at you. Try some." That totally worked, hahahahahahaha.

Here is a review of Dawkins' intemperate book, the Fascism Delusion, that does a superb job of pointing out the flaws in that polemic.
