Tonight I taped the Lifetime movie, Living Proof (about a doctor who is trying to find a cure for breast cancer), because I knew my emotions wouldn't be able to handle it. Well in between watching another show I changed the channel to see a snippet of the movie. That was the wrong thing to do. When I changed the channel I saw a woman on the phone ( Read more... )

I'm 18 years old and my dad has just been diagnosed with lymphoma. The tests were "inconclusive" so we're still waiting to find out what kind it is, but the doctor told him that it looks like Mantle cell lymphoma. From what I know, the average time left for people with Mantle lymphoma is 3-5 years.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone as there is no cancer diagnosis here. My son (2½) has several lumps in the lymph nodes in his neck which are growing and our family dr is concerned. This is the fourth dr to look at his lumps and we have finally been referred to a pediatric oncologist. Could anyone give me a run down on what could happen at this ( Read more... )
