After their guest has left, Pela is amiably lazing around - still unclothed, naturally - on the balcony bed, sprawled on her stomach with a newspaper she can almost completely read by now. Pelagia is pleasantly surprised, once she returns to the hotel from an outing (it was supposed to be much briefer than it was, but she found something terribly preoccupying in the Nexus, which she will probably tell James about because it's actually interesting beyond 'Pelagia has excellent taste in bed partners, let her tell you how'). Later on in the evening, Pelagia is faced with a predicament: James is not here, and that 'phone' thing he has is ringing. This Dreaming has a sea. That's really all Pela requires, even if some of the marine life is unfamiliar to her - but then, hasn't the Dreaming been foreign to her people for a long time?
