I've noticed of late that I'm not very good at my new sport, that of competitive mothering.  I think I'm too aware of the game, and thus come off simultaneously cynical and over-serious.  Or maybe I'm MORE competitive, to the point that I try to act like I'm not playing the game at all I'm just that good. Case in point:

Well, I’m home and have been for a few weeks. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed again (surprise!) but overall pretty good. I’d say the biggest bits of news has been that I got a part time summer job for a few weeks-at a local pizzeria! I’m a cook! No kidding. I realized that I needed some time out of the house, because it would help me be more ( Read more... )

Well, after two hard days travel with a pretty screamy baby, I got home to VA on Friday.  Sat around Saturday recuperating, and Sunday was the Lord's Lazy Day (come on.  A God who planned a lazy day for you.  How good is that?) and Monday I actually Got Some Stuff Done.

OK. I know people get tired of my posts being about baby poo, baby care, general whining about babies. But I just gotta say…this has been a poopy day.  Several diaper loads, various colors, all ridiculous frankly.  Each time I find myself looking at the diaper and thinking "I never saw this in my life.  Huh."
