It takes a village to raise a child; but must I be a villager?
Although I have chosen a child-free existence, I do from time to time enjoy interacting with and getting to know children. As with adults, there are some kids whose company I do not enjoy, and others whom I look forward to seeing again. I like to think that, in general, kids like hanging out with me too.

Does anyone know why there are helicopters doing fly-bys of our building? Has been going on for about an hour. They are disturbing SammyHubby's studying. -
Next time tweezers
I braved the gale and popped into my nearby fabric emporium at lunch time today. I was just looking, and yet somehow, returned to the office with 3.5 m of 'wool' in a lovely shade of red - not too tomatoey or pillar-boxy, ever so slightly pinkish but not a real burgundy.

Bushdire Appeal sewing bee

God Bless Firefighters
There are no words for what has occurred in Vic over the past 24 hours. I salute all those who have responded to the call to help - the firefighters, the support volunteers, the medical staff. I pray for all those who have lost anything and everything.

The city is melting
According to the weather channel at 2.57 pm today the temp reached 45.2.
I am glad to be at home under the air con watching SATC. Sam is at work, I hope he is ok.
Interesting footnote - I own all 6 series of SATCon DVD, but still lie here on the couch watching it on Fax. -
Valentine's Schmalentines!
It's still hot here in Melbourne, even if its not recordbreakingly hot. Today my shoes were rubbing, possibly due to heat-induced feet swelling, so I asked SammyHubby to bring some band-aids with him when we met for dinner and a movie. Turns out he had already left the house. So he bought me a whole box of band aids all for me. Now that's romance.
