Little boy has had a hard week. He got pinkeye, which was bad enough, but when a patch of skin under his left eye began looking like OS' did when she developed periorbital cellulitis a few years ago, we took him to the doctor. All of the sudden, Yossi can sit up. He can't get himself there, but if I put him in that position he can stay there for quite a while.

Last night, I went to the grocery store and let him sit up in the cart. He looked a bit nervous at first but did great. It's a good thing, too, since he's almost at the weight limit for the infant seat.

Yossi did a little quasi-crawling last night. I saw "quasi" because he still hasn't quite figured out how to coordinate his arms and legs, but he still came closer than he ever has before. * OS is now sleeping in a big-girl bed. I've known for a while that she was outgrowing her toddler bed, which used to be a crib, but had been having a devil of a time finding a twin bed. Yossi has begun to make little smacking kissy noises with his lips. He's so proud of himself for figuring out how to do it.

A couple of weeks ago, Yossi started rolling onto his side when I put him down to sleep in the bassinet. He seemed more comfortable that way, but rolling over put him awfully close to the side of the bassinet. And that made it clear that I needed to find a bigger place for him to sleep.
