You know...you keep wanting respect for you being an atheist but you fail completely at respecting those who have a religion. Kind of Hypocritical, don't you think

oh brandon. i will always love you no matter what. nothing you say or do can change that. i plan on writing a longer comment later after i've had time to ingest it all.
Allow me to clarify Sarah...as you obviously did not get the gist of what I was trying to say at all...not even a little bit. Quite frankly, dear, I am quite aware of our nation's foundation. That has nothing to do with my arguement. I even talked about that.
This was NOT to "disrespect" the Christian faith. I was simply qualifying my views. How dare you say I disrespect Christianity and then turn around and disrespect MY beliefs? I'm an Atheist because it's TRENDY? How dare you. You are not the person I thought you were. I have no problem dating a Christian...Ryan is one of my best friends in the whole world and an ARDENT Christian. I've never met one stronger, and our friendship is unshakable.
Dude... I'm agnostic and I never have my feelings on religion become an issue in my everyday life. You seem to live with some kind of pervasive conflict/strugle over it. Is it because other people are giving you crap over how you feel? Because, just from my experience, nobody ever bothers me about my feelings. Even my Christian friends have always just respected how I feel and everytime we get into a discusion aobut the subject, it never turns into conflict. All I'm tryign to say is that if people are making it hard on you, maybe its time to just tell them to STFU because thats kind of assholish of them.
You misunderstood. I was using that in reference to Christianity. As an Atheist, my deeds are even more important to me, as they are all that I have to prove myself a "moral" person. I do disagree with you though, many people DO believe Atheism implies immorality. I feel very strongly that my deeds matter. Just not in reference to whether or not I'm going to Hell.
