Reader and Raelynx
I've finished Reader and Raelynx, and thus the original Twelve Houses quartet. I have Fortune and Fate, the tacked-on-because-the-main-character-demanded-to-be-written-about fifth book, cued to read next -- and I have high hopes for it* -- but I'm taking a little time to catch my breath first.

Three days off this week! Which is great, and necessary, because work is going to be just wretched from about July 18 to August 1.
In between recovering from my knee injury and making the tiniest bit of progress on my Decathlon fics, I'm entirely captivated by the Twelve Houses world. Expect a lengthy post about that once I finish Reader and Realynx ( Read more... ) -
Dark Moon Defender

So, New York.
Is this, as I keep reading in various places, the honest-to-God turning of the tide in the US? Earlier this year, I linked to a New York Times article which states that Gay Marriage Opponents are Now in the Minority. Two months later, New York has legalized same-sex marriage. New York is big. People all over the world watch New York.

Strawberry or Blueberry Jam
Note to self: get a fruit/dessert icon of some kind.
The jam set up fine, and is delicious! I used low sugar pectin, which is my new favorite canning supply because it's not too sweet and the fruit flavor came out really intense. (For comparison, a batch of traditional jam uses 7 cups of sugar to 5 cups of fruit. This one uses 2 1/2 cups of sugar ( Read more... ) -

Walking dogs while listening to the MP3 player = WIN. Really wish I'd tried it six years ago. OTOH, it's only the past 2-3 months that I've gotten City Mouse to walk in an approximately straight line at a relatively steady pace, so... maybe not..
