DON'T FORGET TO READ PART 8.2!

“Father really likes D’Marcus,” Haru said, twirling the straw in her strawberry soda. Her dark eyes casted downward as she watched the little carbonated bubbles rise up to the top or cling to the sides of the glass.

“Is he in there with him?” Kai asked, trying to mask his irritation. He cleaned the counter with more diligence and force than was necessary.

“Hm?” She looked up at him dreamingly. She wasn’t listening.

Today was unseasonably warm. Kai wore a white tank top that revealed his thin, well formed arms. To keep his black bangs out of his face, he wore a blue baseball cap backwards. Along its front it read Tokyo in roman letters. The Moon Lady, shabby as it was didn’t have an air conditioner of any sort and the lack of this one little luxury caused Kai who slaved over the stove all day long, to become miserably hot. Watching delicate Haru-who in this heat looked as if she barely broke a sweat, speak in her soft voice dreamingly of D, only seemed to make Kai realize how terribly hot it was. He could tell that she was musing on him, probably fawning in her mind over his handsome face.

Kai sighing loudly stared at her. Normally, he wouldn’t do that but she was too carried away in her fantasy that she hardly noticed his presence.

“You like him,” he stated in a loud voice.

That seemed to grab her attention. She shot up two large almond shaped eyes. Within seconds, her cheeks were flushed pink. Her body tensed and she dropped her eyes back to the strawberry soda, mortified and embarrassed.

“It’s obvious Haru,” Kai said in the same tone. “I can tell. He can tell.”

“He…said…that?” Her voice was barely audible as the words escaped painfully from her thin lips.

“Yeah.”

“He doesn’t care for me, does he? How could he…I mean…” She had the urge to get up and run away.

“Haru,” Kai said softly. In the crowded Moon Lady with truckers, day laborers, construction workers sitting around eating their food, talking loudly, he felt that all of that were happening in another room. Right then and there-in fact whenever he was with Haru, he felt like it was just her and everything else existed outside. You must be a man. Be strong, he told himself. And just when he was about to confess to her, to ask her to leave the restaurant for a minute, Reita’s voice shouted loudly over the din “KAIIII!”

His eyes shot up to see his old friend walking happily into the restaurant. He had forgotten that he was supposed to meet him here.

“Reita!” he smiled and walking from behind the counter gave his friend a warm hug.

“How are you?” Reita said squeezing him tightly.

“Good,” Kai tried to laugh but for some reason he felt this strange weight on him and he couldn’t shake it off. “How are you?”

“Good,” Reita answered and pulled away. “Oh! I want you to meet my fiancé!”

Kai’s eyes widen in shock as a short girl who had been standing behind him, stepped to the side to present herself. She had short black hair cut like a boy as it grazed the edge of her chin. She had large lips and pudgy looking nose and she was a bit heavy set but for all these defects, she seemed immensely confident and this attitude gave her physical appearance, a strangely memorable if not attractive aura. She was dressed in a large black Slipknot t-shirt and she wore ripped up jeans and checkered tennis shoes.

“Kameyo,” she said not waiting for Reita. She extended her hand. It was littered with rings of various shapes and sizes. Kai immediately noticed a tattoo of a bunny near her thumb but instead of it being cute, it looked like a zombie; its eyes X’d out and its mouth gaping open, drool dripping down its tiny inked chin.

“Yutaka but some people call me Kai,” he said slowly as he examined her face, still in shock.

“Yup, so Kame this is my good friend Kai, he plays the drums in Lie:Death.”

“You don’t say!” she said loudly. “Fuck, I saw your asses not that long ago,” she pursed her lips and nodded. “You were the shit if I remember correctly. This bitch can play,” she said to Reita as if he didn’t know. “I remember thinking your whole band sucked balls except for the drummer.”

Kai blinked not knowing how to respond. Reita’s fiancé. Reita’s fiancé was not only rude but she cussed like a sailor.

“You two are getting married?” he asked thickly.

“You are shocked,” she said as if it were cute if not a little boring.

“Well, last time…Reita was in love-I mean…” Kai wasn’t thinking straight. Normally, he would have known better to keep his mouth shut but it was like getting several blows to his head. First, Haru wants D. Second, Reita shows up. Third, Reita’s getting married. Forth, Reita’s getting married to this girl.

“Ohhhhhh,” she laughed delightedly and looked up at Reita. “In love,” she said in a mocking voice. “With who? Wait-let me guess…you were in love with a chick like that,” she said pointing at Haru. She did it for various reasons. Not only because Haru was everything she wasn’t but the girl was staring at them, thinking that they didn’t notice and Kameyo, perhaps because it was in her nature to be as blunt as possible wanted to expose her. Besides, the girl was gaping at her like she was freak. Kameyo used to that sort of reaction had over time become callused toward “normal” people. “Hey princess, come over here. We don’t bite….hard,” she said that last word extremely loud.

Kai folded his arms and gave Reita a look telling him to control his girlfriend.

“Kameyo be nice. Sorry,” he said to Haru.

“I am nice. I am inviting her to our Pow-Wow. Come party, baby,” she said maliciously.

Haru blushing madly quickly rushed into the back probably to take refuge in the staff room.

“Aw…cute,” Kameyo said sarcastically.

“Did…you really have to be so mean?” Kai said shooting Kameyo a reprimanding look.

“Mean? So staring at me like I was retard baby of Satan…yeah, not mean at all,” she stared at him challengingly.

Kai shaking his head stunned looked at Reita in disbelief that not only would he even look at this girl as a romantic prospect let alone marry her. Reita recognizing that he was trying to tell him this with this crazed look in his eyes, didn’t bother to say anything to it. He had been through this already with plenty other men. Kameyo was unfeminine. She was the opposite of every Japanese man’s ideal girl. Reita when he met her decided that he found her too funny not to befriend but for many months considered her to be practically void of any of the sexual attractiveness of women. She spoke her mind too readily, looked at everyone in the eye no matter the age or gender, she cussed whenever and wherever she wanted, she ate like a pig and drank way too much beer.

“Do you have a bathroom in this joint or do people piss out in the back?” she asked in all seriousness as she scanned the room.

“The Ladies’ bathroom is right there,” Kai without looking, pointed to it.

“Thanks, cutie pie,” she said as she headed toward it.

Once she was out of ear range, Kai said in an almost angry voice “What is that?”

“Huh?”

“That girl?” his mouth was open as he shook his head, staring at Reita like he had done something bad.

“Kameyo. She’s my fiancé…”

“Reita…why?”

“Because I love her,” he straightened up.

“She’s…rude,” Kai folded his arms and sighed.

“6 years Kai and this is what you want to talk to me about?” Kai was stunned to hear Reita talk like this. Usually, he was fun loving and relaxed but it was evident that if Kai continued to press on this subject, he was going to stand up for her and in a manner unlike him, aggressively defend her.

“Reita…I’m sorry…I just…don’t meet many people like that,” he said apologetically. His friend had a point. It had been a long time since they had seen one another. They should be happy. They shouldn’t be having this argument.

“Look, you can think what you want about her,” Reita said. His tone was low and gentle. “But you don’t know her like I know her.”

Kai sighed and stared at him. “Okay,” he said with a nod. “Hey, let’s just forget about it, okay? It’s nice to see you again,” he said with a playful smack on the arm.

Reita smiled forgivingly.

“Hey come sit down and let me fix you something to eat,” Kai said with a warm smile.

As he sat down and he started preparing the food, Reita said in a friendly voice “It’s really hot in here!”

“I know!” Kai laughed and set him some food down. “Will she want the same thing?”

“Kameyo? Yeah, she’ll eat anything,” he chuckled.

Kai set down some food for her. “So you play bass now, huh?”

“Yup,” he started stuffing his face. “Ruki is trying to convince me to join their band.”

“Figured,” he leaned on the counter. “Are you going to?” he asked.

“I don’t know,” Reita looked up and mused. “Maybe…I mean…I am not that close with the other guys in the band.”

Kai nodded. If Reita joined then that would mean out of the 5 of them, he would be the only one not in the band. It would be dumb to leave Lie:Death. He got along fine with his band mates and they were successful. There were rumors that they were going to be signed and they were considering doing a mini tour. He had put so much work into this band that to leave them out of nowhere like this and especially when they were courting so much attention seemed downright idiotic but at the same time, it made him feel bitter that the other 4 would be playing together without him.

Kameyo came back and plopped down next to her boyfriend. “I’m back bitchezzz,” she sang as she planted a strangely sweet kiss on Reita’s temple before looking down at her food and letting out a delighted “AHHHH.”

“I’m sorry,” Kai said to her.

“Huh?” she looked up, surprised.

“I’m sorry if I was rude.”

“Oh…” she was too stunned to quite understand what was going on. “Who is this guy?” she turned and asked Reita in complete shock. No one has ever apologized to her for the way they reacted toward her.

“Kai. He’s a good guy,” Reita laughed. He felt a surge of pride and affection for his old friend.

“Um…” she looked back at Kai. “I’m sorry too if I came off like a rude bitch,” she stumbled through her words. “Let’s start over,” she lifted up her hand again. “I’m Kameyo,” she smiled sweetly. “Nice to meet you.”

Kai giggled at this strange girl. “I’m Yutaka but since you are going to be Mrs. Reita, you can call me Kai,” he bowed slightly and shook her hand.

***

Uruha had opened all the windows in the house to let in the warm air and the sun. He had nothing to do today, no one to see. Picking up his guitar, he sat on the floor and leaning against the couch, began to play it.

But he couldn’t concentrate. His mind kept going back to the night before, to Aoi. Inside of him, he could feel a terrible longing mingling with his joy like a thick stream of blood through water, and as soon as he let in the thought that he wanted him again, all the water was dyed red and he could think of nothing else.

Why does he keep rejecting you? Uruha could not understand.

It seemed like a sick trick of fate. Aoi confused him. And even though the one thing he was certain of was that he wanted to see him happy again, there was still a part of him that desired more than anything to have him. The night before, Aoi smiled but it wasn’t because of him. The night before, he danced and sang and played around but it wasn’t because of him. Only on that stage could Aoi regain that thing, that vivacity that he lost. He could understand. Like Aoi he felt that way being up there with the crowd cheering you on, their energy exalting you, the purity of the sound being the only communication-he knew that with that was the answer to Aoi’s salvation and he couldn’t help but feel a jealousy toward something greater than himself.

But if this thing could heal him, why can’t you have him? Why can’t you touch him, kiss him, have sex with him? Uruha didn’t need to be the sun in Aoi’s life. He didn’t need to be the thing that made Aoi feel his soul underneath his skin. He didn’t need any of those things. He just wanted to feel his body next to him. Maybe he was more like an animal than others. He needed that visceral contact-the sensation, the salty taste, the thick sweat, the breathing.

The more he thought about it, the more the hunger built up inside of him. The memory of so many years ago, being passionately taken by him, of trying so hard to meld his body into his. Pressing, pushing, rocking. He could even remember the sound of his moans that trailed upward from the deep purr sound in his throat to something wet and high-pitched.

Setting his guitar aside, he pressed his own palm against his hardening erection.

He closed his eyes and tried to imagine Aoi’s mouth on him-not the 17 year-old Aoi but the one he knew now, the one that was bigger and stronger looking. Getting up quickly, he laid down on the couch and unzipping his own pants in hurry pulled his penis out and started stroking it. He imagined him looking up at him, the light bouncing off of his lip piercing, his lips curled in a smirk as he dragged his tongue down the base of his penis.

Aoi would ask him in his smug little voice if he liked it. Uruha, deep in his own fantasy, nodded. And then Aoi would get undressed, revealing his long lean chest and his own erection. Uruha wanted to press his naked thigh against him, feeling his hardness and the silky dampness of his pitch black pubic hair. Squirming on the couch, he begged the air for it, whimpering as he pulled his pants down. As he fantasized Aoi grabbing his penis and pushing it inside of him, Uruha with one hand on his own erection, pushed several fingers inside of his hole, forcing them in aggressively in an attempt to make them feel as big and as strong as the real thing.

The sensation was better than he imagined it would be but at the same time, it wasn’t nearly as fulfilling as it would have been if he were really being fucked. He whimpered in frustration and lifting himself up, forced his fingers deeper.

He closed his eyes tighter. Aoi would lift his legs up and rest them on his own shoulders and leaning in, would go down even farther and go even faster. Trying to mimic the speed, Uruha fingered himself faster. He moaned and cried aloud, his mouth gaping open. He could feel his tongue go lax and a little bit of spit trickling down his lips. And these things only made him feel even more aroused.

Suddenly the phone started ringing. Uruha too immersed in his masturbation didn’t pay it any attention. The closer he got to climaxing, the more he pushed himself down into his own hand and stroked himself.

The phone rang and rang.

Finally, when he could take it no more, he let out a loud yelp and came all over himself. He breathed heavily and looked about the sunny room in a daze.

“Um…Answer your fucking phone!” Aoi said over the answering machine. Hearing his voice, Uruha sat up shocked. “I’ve got some good news regarding a drummer~” he sang happily. “And I’m on my way over to drop off some guitar shit this neighbor of mine, some really old guy gave me for free so…yeah, I’ll be there soon.”
