It seems the good people of Salem, North Carolina got punked the other day:

No one knows for sure who he was, that Middle Eastern man in an American flag shirt and a cowboy hat who was supposed to sing the national anthem at a rodeo Friday night in the Salem Civic Center.

But he sure shook up this town before leaving in a hurry.

I'm thinking Prince. Michael is more of a performer than a songwriter. Prince's songs are just better music.

UPDATE: Bonus question: will the music of the Beatles still be considered genius 100 years from now?

It seems that the public video site YouTube has become home to all of the 1980s music videos that the Milk Brother spent so many hours watching as a teenager. Of course, the Milk Brother's folks would not pop for extended cable, so I never saw MTV. The Milk Brother and his Bliss Partner caught Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" last night. It was sobering, to say the least. At this point, it has to be acknowledged that the scientific basis for global warming is incontrovertable. Human activity is quickly warming the planet, causing both foreseen and unforeseen changes to the climate.
