The flash cards have been greatly helpful.  It's only been a week or so, but I'm having very little difficulty remembering the words now.  The translation I've been a little lax on, only a few sentences a night and with far less consistency of time than I had hoped for, but that I suppose is to be expected.  At least I'm getting the vocab into form ( Read more... )

I'm sure by now you're sick of these, but I can't stress enough how awesome the Perseids are. If you see one meteor shower, the easiest one is this one. It's high summer, the moon is in a decent position by the time of the peak (1am), and it's the most reliable.

I'm finally getting the details for the Perseids watching event. So far, the best local place is Jordan Lake--in particular, the New Hope Overlook. A campsite will cost $15 ($20 if we need electric, ha).
