This will be the last post before I leave on Sunday. If all goes as planned, I'll be back in Baton Rouge on or around May 12 for ten days before I have to leave for further training in North Carolina. Also, since I'll be gone on March 19, you can go ahead and wish me a happy 21st birthday now and I won't hold it against you. Wish me luck.

The Super Bowl's today, and it's two teams that I never would've expected to see playing each other in this venue: The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks. It's like it's two underdogs who've made it to the top. According to people who know things, it's blasphemy to display the likeness of Muhammad in any form. What's worse is that these cartoons are critical of Islam. Today Samuel Alito was confirmed by the Senate 58-42 to replace Sandra Day O'Conner on the Supreme Court. I can't really think of much to say about the nomination. I think what's remarkable is that the Senate Democrats on the Judiciary Committee just rolled over and died. Their arguments for why Alito is unfit to be a justice seemed pretty ( Read more... )

A few days ago the people of the Palestinian territory, in a fair election, elected Hamas as the majority party in their government. Frankly, I don't see what the big deal is.
