Yet another one of those terms that has changed with age. Boys who were frat boys back in the day, and many who weren't, might think "kegger" "loud music" "dancing - perhaps even on tables or minus articles of clothing" ...and would be wrong. Today I cycled to work. Five miles, fairly flat, so no complaints. But snarks, oh yes. I was pondering the ridiculousness of the middle-aged white men who march around (ETA: the office) in cargo shorts and Tevas/Chacos/Keen/whatever-the-current trendy sandal is. Oral Adventures - not what it might have meant 20 years ago
Alas, one reaches a certain age, and it's not pron. It's a trip to the oral surgeon.

Bun Rebellion & new food low (or high?)
Threshie is refusing to come in. It is ~10pm, and a toasty 60-something degrees outside. I got home late, so he didn't get to romp in the yard until nearly 7. He rests a lot, between bouts of playing, being a growing Baby Bun.

A Brief Venture to the Pure Land Neighborhood
Went to the Obon Festival today - just in time for one of the taiko performances. Hooray for drumming! As a fan of tribal-style dancing, I love that taiko has the drummers dancing.
The Buddhist temple hosting the festival is beautiful, and very close to where I live (say, 5 minutes by car, not much more by light rail). So I was hopeful that dharma ( Read more... ) -
Random: Yellow Duct Tape
Yesterday I went to sign my contract - assorted people's vacations having slowed the whole process. Giant steel/glass building with indoor waterfall. The office walls facing the central atrium are also glass, so as you go up the escalator the view is a bit like being in a glass elevator. An upscale Borg cube, yo.
