Kevin nodded his head as he marked the exercise he made for Kibum two weeks after the minor test the teachers made for the whole level. “Not bad, getting the hang of functions...”
Kibum unknowingly smiled, also happy he made improvement. He was starting to like Kevin and his patience a lot.
“Okay,” Kevin stood up suddenly. “Stand.”
Kibum raised an eyebrow at the sudden order, but did as he was told anyway.
“Take off your shirt.”
Kibum’s jaw dropped. “What?!”
“Don’t what me, do it.” Kevin frowned and tapped his finger on the table top impatiently.
“I was born and raised in a conservative family, I never showed my body to anyone unrelated to me by blood and thus never will.” Kibum blabbered out a lie, so impromptu that Kibum wondered if he was a natural genius at it.
“Liar,” Kevin heartlessly pointed out. “Everyone showers after P.E., it’s a school rule.”
Damn it, and Kibum thought he was finally good at something.
“I’ll do it if you take off yours first.” Kibum decided.
“No! I was born and raised in a conservative family, I never showed my body to anyone ever since I could spell privacy and thus never will.” Kevin said defensively.
“Liar,” Kibum mimicked. “Everyone showers after P.E., it’s a school rule.”
“I’m an exception.” Kevin shrugged.
“Yeah, right.” Kibum rolled his eyes, finally understanding why this time they were in a classroom and not the library. “Why do I have to do it anyway?”
Kevin sighed. “It’s to understand you better and how you manage time, nutrition and whatnots. If it makes you feel any better, you’re not the first guy that did this. Probably the twenty fifth. And I didn’t let Soohyun come today because we have to do this, so stop wasting my time. Yes, he’ll do so with me privately. You’re not that special, you know...”
“Only guys?” Kibum blinked and tried to process that minor information in a positive light.
Kevin blushed, but nodded.
Kibum widened his eyes and found himself taking an involuntary step back. Uh-oh, Kevin was...gay?
Kevin saw Kibum back away and blushed harder. Gosh, what’s wrong with being shy around girls? Maybe he wasn’t the normal kind of shy, more like stupefied, but at least...at least...argh he doesn’t know. And it’s just so wrong to ask a girl to take off her shirt anyway. Kevin reasoned with himself and didn’t understand why Kibum was being so shocked about the issue.
Didn’t Kibum know his fear for girls?
“Just listen to me.” Kevin nudged the other boy as he whipped out a checklist and a hard board for writing.
Kibum gulped but thought maybe Kevin already had a boyfriend or have no interests in him, which is likely true because Kibum never thought Kevin might be gay. But he is. Convincing himself that it was fine to take off his shirt before a homosexual, he did it.
Kevin frowned, and somehow that made Kibum defensive. Kibum was pretty proud of his body, and knowing that Kevin had seen twenty four other bodies and might be comparing his to theirs made him felt this way.
“So?” Kibum tried to ask in the most subtle way he could manage.
“Do you sunbathe?” Kevin stuck his lips out as he pondered, referring to his checklist once every few seconds.
“No.” Kibum replied, somewhat dissatisfied with Kevin’s reply.
“You’re pretty organised it seems, considering the skin condition of your back. But you spend quite a lot of time in the gym.” Kevin stated. “Not good, unless you bring a book along. Do you?”
“No.” Kibum said, unhappy with the way Kevin was commenting about his body.
“Thought so.” Kevin shrugged.
“Made me take off my shirt for such minor things...” Kibum muttered under his breath. Then again, what was he expecting? It was better than a detailed explanation of how the muscles build up, the names of the muscles around his body and whatnots.
“Take off your pants.” Kevin ordered as if he just said the most normal thing on Earth.
“What?!” Kibum stared at Kevin, in a horrible state of shock. His eyes widened till it hurt to keep them open, but he didn’t blink.
“Hmm? Take it off.” Kevin replied simply, checking his checklist instead of looking at Kibum.
“No.” Kibum shook his head as if proving his determination, also suddenly wary of Kevin. Who knows? It might be his underwear next.
“No?” Kevin asked quizzically. Kibum gave him A LOOK, while Kevin tried to understand it. “Oh? Ohhhh.”
Kevin patted Kibum’s back and nodded. “Okay, sorry about that. You can put on your shirt now.”

“Hey, Kevin.” Alexander smiled as he sat down in front of Kevin. “Did you hear? Mr Fred and a girl from our level are dating.”
“No, I didn’t.” Kevin said as politely as possible. Alexander was always friendly, but Kevin didn’t like his gossiping nature. They weren’t really close (except for that debating competition), but Alexander had a habit of telling what he knows to everyone. (Since they clinched first prize, Kevin eliminated the dislike he had for the older male, as you may already know.)
Alexander waited for a minute before he opened his mouth again. “Well, aren’t you going to ask me what happened next?”
“Erm, they’re dating, what more can there be?” Kevin blinked, thinking it was the end of the issue.
Alexander grinned. “That’s the spirit! So apparently, someone saw them making out in the pathway leading to the cleaners' room which is deserted most of the time. That someone got bribed, can you believe it? Mr Fred would stoop so low? Anyway, she let it out of the bag so now I'm letting you in the know.”
Kevin wondered how to react, and in the sudden rush for something to say, he thanked Alexander.
“No problem.” Alexander nodded, proud of himself. “Oh, what's this?”
“It's to record the personality of the two I'm helping. I will then customize their lessons to how they would like it so they learn better.” Kevin explained, not minding when Alexander flipped opened the book.
“That's very thoughtful of you, Kev.” Alexander praised. “It's Kim Kibum and Shin Soohyun, right?”
“Yeah.” Kevin answered, stopping himself just in time from asking a gossip guy how he knows who Kevin's study buddies are. Wasn’t it just obvious?
Alexander shrieked all of a sudden, dropping the book back on Kevin’s table. “BREAKING NEWS!”
