Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5:
In the end Aiba’s concert was complete success. All those girls and women screamed their lung out during the whole time. ‘Nino’s idea’ with the saxophone was a great hit just was great hit just as well. Even Nino had to congratulate to himself for the success. It wasn’t just that he was happy to help out his friend but Aiba proved him right with the concert. He did his best with the rehearsals before hand and during the concert too. And he was damn hot playing the saxophone! Nino swear he spotted a few girls fainting because of it…
As much as Nino was happy for his friend’s success he couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed and afraid after the concert too…
‘Let’s go with this idea of yours but you have to take responsibility for this!... Whatever the result will be…’
‘I have to talk to him!’ Nino thought determined after he was back in Tokyo.
He wanted to talk to Ohno right after the concert when he caught a glimps of the dance instructor but before he could approach him, that stylist - what was his name? Matsugoto? - hugged Ohno’s shoulder with a triumphant grin and lead him away, probably to celebrate the successful concert and Nino had no choice but to delay his confession to a later time…
As Nino entered his apartment his phone rang. He didn’t even need to look at the caller ID cause the ringtone told him who it was.
“What’s up, uncle?” Nino asked as he answered the call.
“Kazunari! Tomorrow, 10 AM. Don’t be late!” the old man ordered him through the phone.
“Got that” he said rather reluctantly and hang up.
‘So it has to be tomorrow…’ Nino thought with a sigh…
But tomorrow was one of those days when nothing goes the way you want them…
“No way! I overslept!”
Nino jumped out of his bed panicked. Half minute ago he was just turning to his other side and peeked through his lashes. To his (bad) luck, his glance fell on the alarm clock on his bedside table. It was 9 o’clock already…
In barely 15 minutes Nino threw his clothes on - well, it wasn’t that easy with the cast still on, but he managed somehow.
His taxi arrived in front of the jimusho half an hour later. Nino just threw a handful of notes to the driver before jumped out of the car and ran up straight to Ohno’s dance hall.
“Oh-chan!” Nino cried out for the man as he burst through the door.
He didn’t need to wait even a minute and the called man rushed out from him office.
“Nino-kun?”
The dance instructor was happy and surprised in the same time to see the boy there. After he talked to Jun he vowed to himself to put some distance between him and Nino for the boy’s sake. But no matter what he couldn’t help his upbeat heart-rate at the sight of the younger boy’s slightly flushed face, shining eyes…
“Oh-chan… Oh-chan, I…” Nino mumbled still breathless from the running here.
He stumbled to the dance instructor till he stood right in front of him so he could fist his hand onto Ohno’s shirt and pressed his forehead into his shoulder.
“Oh-chan…” Nino breathed out once more and felt calmness and happiness spreading in his hearth thank to the mere presence of the older man.
“Nino-kun? What’s the matter?” Ohno asked softly, slightly puzzled by the boy’s acts yet he couldn’t stop his arms rising by themselves to hug Nino.
Soft smile lit up Nino’s face at the hug then slowly pulled away from the warmth of Ohno’s body to look up at him.
“Oh-chan…” he started taking a deep breath. “Ihavetotellyousomething” he sputtered.
Ohno frowned confused.
“What? I couldn’t quite catch what you said…” the dance instructor admitted confused.
“I… have to… tell you something…” Nino repeated slower this time so Ohno will understand him.
“Go on” Ohno smiled at him reassuring but an uneasy feeling squeezed his heart when he saw the serious, nearly fearful glints in the boy’s eyes.
“You remember the first time we met?” Nino asked fixing his eyes on the ground.
“Of course I do!” Ohno answered offended by the assumption that he might have forgotten that day.
Nino nodded his head and took another deep breath to prepare him for whatever that’ll come after he told Ohno the truth.
“I wasn’t completely honest with you…” Nino started looking up at the older man. As much as he was afraid to see Ohno’s reaction, he couldn’t bring himself not to face him now. “I’m…”
Ohno’s phone beeped signaling a reminder.
‘No, no, no! Not now!’ Nino thought panicked.
A pout ran over Ohno’s face before he pulled out his phone to check it.
“Gomen, Nino-kun! I’m late from a meeting. I have to go now” the dance instructor said seeming truly sorry as he headed to the door quickly. “I’ll be finished in a few hours, wanna go out for lunch later? We can finish this conversation then…” the older man said smiling at Nino from the doorway. “Oh, and you look really good in a suit, Nino-kun!”
And with that he was gone.
All Nino wanted to hide in a dark place and cry. There was no way that Ohno’d want to keep his precious words…
“You’re late, Kazunari” his uncle told to him displeased.
“Sorry, I overslept” Nino said but his uncle obviously wasn’t interested in his excuse.
Seeing this Nino made a mental shrug but followed his uncle to the meeting room.
“Gentlemen, this is Ninomiya Kazunari, my nephew and heir. From now on he’ll take part in every junior-related meeting” Johnny announced officially to the junior-supporter staff-members in the room.
Nino knew he shouldn’t but he couldn’t help and looked up at Ohno to see how he reacted to the news.
As expected the dance instructor stared back at him obviously not wanting to believe what he heard. Hurt and betrayal painted all over his round face and it seemed he wasn’t affected by Nino’s pained expression at all. Nino wanted nothing but to run to Ohno, tell him he didn’t want to lie, that it was all but a huge, stupid misunderstanding, that he meant no harm cause he loved him!...
But he couldn’t. Not now. He had to sit through this stupid meeting as a result - reward, in his uncle’s eyes - that he wanted to help Aiba and save him from suffering agonies of the piano. From now on he’ll have to take part in these meetings so he’ll have the chance to test out all his innovating ideas while he was also getting used to how things worked in the world of business…
It was the longest two hours in Nino’s entire life. He was checking his watch all the time, counting back the seconds when it will be over; when he’ll be able to talk with Ohno…
But once again, it didn’t go the way he wanted. But he couldn’t, not immediately.
As soon as the meeting was officially over, Ohno was the first one to jump from his seat and rush out. Nino wanted to follow him just as fast but his uncle was holding him back talking about only God knows what cause Nino remembered only that he was nodding stupidly and agreeing to anything and everything Johnny said just to be able to get free sooner…
“Oh-chan! Oh-chan!”
Nino burst into the dance hall calling for the dance instructor for the second time that day. But this time Ohno emerged from his office way slower than earlier and stopped right there crossing his arms over his chest, anger obvious on his face.
“What can I help you, Ninomiya-san?” he asked on a disgustingly polite, cold tone that Nino never heard from him yet it sent chills running down his spine. “And I’d appreciate if you would not use such intimate nicknames. That’s not professional…”
Nino thought he fell into a bad dream. He thought he was prepared for the worst but getting this reaction from Ohno wasn’t actually something he could be prepared. His worst nightmare was coming true right in front of his eyes. He stumbled closer to the older man as his eyes filled with tears.
“Oh-chan…” Nino couldn’t bring himself to obey Ohno, not this time. He felt if he does, he’ll loose Ohno for ever. “Oh-chan, listen to me, please! I know you’re angry but it’s just… a mistake, a misunderstanding! I didn’t mean to lie to you…” Nino said desperately, almost begging for the older man’s forgiveness.
“But you did! You lied to me! Can you even imagine how shocked, hurt I was back then? How stupid I felt to know that you’re practically my employer?” Ohno shouted at the boy not able to keep inside all those mixed emotions.
Nino stumbled back a step at this.
“No… I’m… not…” he stuttered.
“Yes, you are!”
Nino fell silent this time. Just his tears poured down on his face and his lips trembled silently. Ohno was still staring at him.
“Why? Why did you do it? Was it for fun? Were you testing me? Why?” Ohno started calmer but his voice rose with each sentence till he was shouting at the boy once again.
“No!” Nino shook his head. “I wasn’t testing you or pull a prank on you! It was a misunderstanding!” Nino repeated his previous words. “You assumed I was a junior when I first walked in here and…”
“Oh, so now it’s my fault!”
“I never said that!”
“But you referred to it!”
“No, I didn’t!”
“Then why don’t you just tell me who you were actually?” Ohno pointed out the most offensive question.
At first Nino said nothing and Ohno took that as a proof to his theory.
“Thought so…” the dance instructor mumbled on a disgusted tone. “You’re still just playing…”
“No! I wasn’t! I tried to tell it to you but every time I wanted to tell it, you had to hurry or was late from somewhere or your damn phone was ringing…!” Nino explained stepping closer to Ohno reaching out his hand for him.
‘Uh, yeah, about that I wanted to… I really appreciate the offer but…’
‘Oh-chan… no… Sat…’
‘I have to tell you something… You remember the first time we met?... I wasn’t completely honest with you… I’m…’
All those time, he tried, he really did but fate always cut in…
“Oh-chan… Satoshi…” Nino whispered stepping closer and closer to the older man. “I tried to tell you. I wanted to tell you… I hated the thought that such a stupid thing would separate me from you… I didn’t want that cause I lov…”
“No!”
Ohno’s cry was sharp, cutting Nino’s words and heart as he slipped away, out of the reach of those stubby fingers.
“Don’t say that…” he said softer this time. “Don’t tempt me…”
Nino’s puffy, red eyes widened. Could it be Ohno was hinting he…?
“Why? Satoshi, why?”
“Don’t call my name… Please…” Ohno asked turning his head away so he didn’t have to see Nino’s tear stained face which made him look more fragile than he was normally.
“Why?” Nino repeated the question stubbornly stepping once again closer to Ohno.
“Cause we can’t!” Ohno snapped turning back just to see Nino was standing right in front of him.
“Why can’t we? I’m not your pupil; I’m not a junior here either… There’s nothing that can stop it…” Nino whispered leaning closer.
Ohno had to close his eyes. Nino’s face so close to his was too much temptation.
‘Satoshi, focus! He’s just a kid, a schoolboy, a minor!’ a voice in Ohno’s head that sounded awfully just like Jun, cleared up slightly the fog over his mind.
“There is! You’re still in school, you’re under-aged! I’m 10 years older than you!” Ohno recited the reasons - excuses - weakly. “You shouldn’t want anything from an old man like me…”
“Who cares about those things? I’m finishing school next year anyway and you’re not old! How many more times should I tell it to you? You’re not old, not in my eyes…” Nino said desperately.
Can fate be crueler? Will he really loose his beloved because of such a lame excuses? No, there was no way he’ll let that happens!
A gentle smile appeared on Ohno’s lips now.
“You’re so sweet, Kazu…” he whispered adoring the boy’s beautiful features.
Nino sighed softly as his name rolled off Ohno’s lips. He couldn’t get tired hearing it, he was sure of that.
“But this can’t happen…” Ohno said silently, sadly. “I can’t let this happen. It can ruin your future, your life… I can’t risk that… And you’ll be my employer…” Ohno said while he caressed Nino’s cheeks gently, lovingly with his thumbs.
“Don’t say that… Satoshi, please…” Nino breathed out weakly, new tears brimming in his eyes. “I can’t take it… You, you’re my future, my life… Please…”
“You’re young, you’ll forget about me…” Ohno tried to convince the boy though his own heart was breaking each word as well.
“No, no… I won’t…” Nino hic-upped pressing his face into Ohno’s chest. “I love you… I love you… I love you…” he mumbled non-stop.
“Don’t you love me too?... At least like me?” Nino asked minutes later slowly raising his head to look at the older man. “Don’t you?”
Ohno said nothing. He didn’t want, could not lie to Nino but he also knew that he couldn’t tell him the truth either. That would just make Nino suffer more…
“Tell me you don’t love me! Look at me in the eye and tell me you don’t love me then I leave you alone!” Nino demanded with small hints of anger coloring his voice.
But Ohno still said nothing but stared at him, making Nino happy, sad and angry in the same time.
Why? Why did things have to turn out like this? Nino wished he would’ve never accepted his uncle’s offer of help…
‘But that way I’d never know Ohno either…’ He thought.
“Would you at least do one thing for me? Just this one thing…” Nino asked silently.
“What do you want?” Ohno asked back.
“Kiss me…”
“Kazu, I don’t think…” Ohno started.
“Please! Just this one time… Kiss me!” Nino asked again, blush slowly coloring his cheeks. “I… I don’t want my… first kiss would be taken away by just someone… I… I want to give it to you…”
Ohno studied Nino for a minute. The boy’s eyes were glinting shyly, his skin flushed in pretty pink color… Ohno’s long, artistic fingers caressed Nino’s cheeks softly before leaned closer slowly, giving Nino time to pull away if he changed his mind.
But Nino didn’t. And he was sure it was the most appropriate thing he could do. Ohno’s lips were hot, soft and fit his oh, so perfectly! Nino’s mind went completely blank as his tongue met with Ohno’s in a slow, sensual yet desperate dance. Their perfect kiss…
Later that night while Nino was lying in his bed wide awake, he still felt lips burning with Ohno’s kiss. He wanted to cry to wash away the pain in his heart and forget everything that happened. But he couldn’t. His eyes were dry and lifeless…
“What’s wrong, Satoshi-kun? I thought it’s your day-off…” Jun said when he found the dance instructor the next day waiting for him in front of his workplace in the basement.
“It is…” Ohno mumbled as he slouched into Jun’s room and flopped down on the first chair he saw.
Jun studied his friend frowning. It was unusual to see Ohno like this. Okay, he never was the hyper-type but he never was this dived either. Something must have happened…
“Look, Satoshi-kun, I can’t help if you don’t tell me what’s wrong…” Jun said gently.
‘Satoshi…’
Ohno wondered why his name sounds so different when it was Nino who called him. Jun was calling him by his given name for years but it never affected him. Yet when Nino said it… delicious shivers run down his spine, making his stomach tremble happily and it… just sounded oh, so right…!
“It’s over…” Ohno said silently sounding depressed.
“What?” Jun still didn’t get what was going on with the older man.
“Kazu… It’s… He must hate me now…” Ohno said staring at nothing.
“Oh!”
For once, Jun had no idea what to tell. A broken heart can’t be mended by words. Or at least no with his, not this time…
“You made the right decision” he said trying to reassure Ohno.
“I’m not that sure about that…” the dance instructor said remembering Nino’s tearstained face.
Jun fell silent once again and Ohno said nothing either for a long time.
“I’m going home…” Ohno announced finally and headed to the door just when that was opened by Jun’s assistant.
“Ohayou, Ohno-kun!” Toma smiled brightly at the dance instructor but he just passed him possibly not even noticing his presence. “What’s wrong with him?” the assistant asked confused looking at Jun as he walked to him.
Jun just shook his head and hugged Toma’s waist pressing his face into his shirt, finding comfort in the closeness of his lover.
“I love you, you know that, right?” he asked.
“Of course I do!” Toma said laughing happily. He had no idea what was going on with Ohno or what he was talking about with Jun but he didn’t really care if the result was Jun telling him those words. After all, he couldn’t get enough of hearing them… “I love you too” he said smiling back at Jun.
“Good” the stylist said standing up to kiss his lover…
A/N: okay, it was super angsty >.< and Ohno finally knows the truth. at first I wanted him to stay angry with Neen for not telling but then changed my mind. I like it better this way...
