I have finally finished and submitted online my 7 week report! Yay... *collapses into bed*

And it's technically not late as the deadline was just stated as the 17th of November, and it wont be the 12th for another half an hour.

Sleeeeeeep.

Apparently, I've grown 2 inches!? Yesterday I was sure I was 5'2"; today, I'm 5'4". This is really messing with my head, and ego.

I found this out through debate with Emma, the other PhD student in my lab, who is 5'3", and shorter than me. I tried the piece of string, wardrobe and ruler test of height (repeatedly because I didn't believe the result ( Read more... )

Here's a few photos of my walk into labs in the mornings, in order. They are also a bit snowy as I took them the morning after it fell. Most of the snow had melted by that point but there's still enough to prove it wasn't all imagined! You also get to see the lovely countryside-like campus where I live.

Today, it rained, hailed, sleeted(?), then snowed for a good 2 hours! It's October! What's happening?! The walk back down Gibbet Hill this evening was treacherous, as it rained a little afterwards so the paths were covered in semi-frozen sludge. I appear to have finally got over my cold, now just left with the usual post-viral fatigue to overcome. I went in today and did some reading and experimenting (making overnight cultures). Other things of note that happened:

• Nearly got trapped in the cold room, which was almost amusing in a chilly kind of way.

I have just accidentally changed my facebook account default language into German. It's entertaining enough that I think I'm going to leave it that way. Apparently 'poke' is 'anstupsen' which I think is amazing. I have no idea why, I just do. Possibly I have a fever. Or those weren't really Lemsip capsules I just took. Anyway. I had a good day today (unlike yesterday, which was a lying-in-bed-feeling-ill day). For starters, I managed to work out the bus timetable so I didn't have to walk to Gibbet Hill, granted it took about 3 times as long as walking, but it's less tiring.
