While in Alaska, I started doing cartoons for a local newsletter/paper called The Ester Republic. They pay per cartoon and they still take my stuff! I try to do things for them now that  still concern Alaska in some way, even though I am now an un-official inhabitant.

I have submitted the "Just Shrew it" design to Threadless.com, with improved changes...it is now in the 'approval' process. Try this link...I don't know if it is the voting one. Lemme look...

So...I learned of an interesting creative/profit opportunity from Vicki and Josh this past year, called Threadless.com. It requires me to submit a design and it is voted on over a period of 7 days.  If it is selected to be printed/made into actual shirts that people buy, money could be won, which could be used for things like buying more education.

I have not drawn anything for months. My 'art desk' has all my materials spread out on it, I have a bookcase with many art books. I have looked at these books and have gotten more from the library, which I have also looked at. I think about how I need to make some artwork a lot, especially while I am at work transporting animal food and/or waste ( Read more... )

The turtle incident happened on our way back to base after we visited another cave. This one was called the Black Hills Caverns. There are a lot of other caves around, so we'll make it to those eventually.
