Tuesday morning finds Cedric in Exeter at his favorite coffeeshop, cathing up on newspapers and political blogs on his computer (where he can get power an a web connection); he receives a phone call that he got the museum job.

Cedric runs into an old teacher at the 5 Alarm, and finds out Professor Sprout is still missing. He and Wilhelmina chat about animals, unicorns, and Cedric acquires an owl (Pallas).

The little owl gets her name and Cedric writes to Ernie, to tell him people are moving to Stoatshead (only to learn he's already in town). He writes to Dean to set up an appointment to discuss his house. (The Dean letter wasn't answered as his Muggle was busy; will be answered later.)

Cedric inadvertantly runs into Roger and Fleur on the road into town; Fleur is in a state over Bill's absence, and Cedric helps Roger calm her down a bit.
