It was Monday, a whole new week, a whole new opportunity for complete and utter destruction… Or not, who knows. It was second period and so Sungyeol and Myungsoo had literature together. They were both relatively quiet and Myungsoo didn’t bother to be a pervert when he saw how worried Sungyeol looked. Eventually, Sungyeol started texting someone under the table.
To: Nam Wallet
I didn’t see you this morning (-; o ;-)
Woohyun didn’t speak with anyone the whole weekend, even Dongwoo. The latter said there were rumours of him getting drunk at some club and getting kicked out for starting a fight or two. Sungyeol didn’t contact Woohyun because well, Woohyun wasn’t exactly the friendliest person when he was pissed off or annoyed or embarrassed, or drunk for that matter. Plus, it’s not like he knew why Sunggyu beat the crap out of him Friday night. Myungsoo said he couldn’t get it out of his brother and when he mentioned Woohyun, Sunggyu would just tell him to drop it and keep your mouth shut. Neither of them would say a word and Sungyeol was beyond worried.

Skipping first two periods. See you at recess
Sungyeol frowned.
To: Nam Wallet
Is it because you have biology? SUNGGGGYUUUUUU ‘(>,<)’ you know he can punish you for skipping!
The end of class came around slowly and Sungyeol still didn’t get a reply (neither did he learn anything useful). The signalling bell rang and everyone shot up from their seats. Sungyeol smacked Myungsoo’s head as the other was staring off into space again, and growled, ‘Your plans suck, you butthead.’
-
Woohyun ambled into school in the middle of recess, sporting a bruised jaw. As he walked past, the students gasped and cleared a path for him, whispering things and launching rumours, left and right. All he did was rock up to school and walked down the hall. He didn’t have to tie anybody to a chair or throw out death threats. All he had to do was be bruised and let his reputation do the work. When he looked up, he heard a student ask another, Do you think it was Sunggyu? Woohyun almost smiled - He found out exactly how to get what he wanted and it involved the student body president. And yes, he admitted he was getting fucking desperate. However, he was going to live out the rumours a little longer before he gave his presence in the school another push. He wanted to prolong it as long as he could.
‘Where were you?’ Sungyeol complained as he saw Woohyun amongst the sea of students.
The older gave a small grin and began walking with him, not saying a word. Dongwoo emerged beside him, eyebrows crinkled in concern as Woohyun didn’t trouble to say hello and instead gave an acknowledging look.
Dongwoo finally noticed the blooming purple on Woohyun’s jaw and lifted his chin up to take a closer look. ‘How the hell did that happen? Did you get into a fight?’ Dongwoo questioned worriedly, gently swiping the wound with his fingertips.
Woohyun shrugged and kept his lips sealed, speeding up his pace to his locker. The oldest among them then looked at Sungyeol with a risen eyebrow. Sungyeol mouthed I’ll explain later in return.
When they reached Woohyun’s locker, Sungyeol looked around, feeling something missing. He then realised Myungsoo wasn’t beside him and frowned unwillingly - That wasn’t normal. He checked his phone and there were no calls or texts. The pervert finally disappeared and it made Sungyeol feel a little jittery because it was all of a sudden, without warning.
Myungsoo was actually with his brother. He decided to keep away from Woohyun for a while - Sunggyu was still pissed as hell and hanging around Woohyun wouldn’t help in the slightest. They were in the music room, casually among the music stands and chairs. Sungjong was going on about things that didn’t even matter to him because no one would say anything. Even Howon tried to start a conversation about what they had next period, but the talking died out as fast as it begun.
At lunch, Howon, Sunggyu and Myungsoo sat at their usual table in the cafeteria and eat. Just eat. They didn’t open their mouths for any other reason than to eat lunch. Sungjong was at one of his lunch time clubs (Seeing how awkward everything was, he gladly left them.) and made everything feel even more like death. Soon after eating, Sunggyu excused himself and left to a meeting or something along those lines. None of them saw Dongwoo, Sungyeol or Woohyun, who probably got lost somewhere on their own.
Myungsoo was silently sulking to himself - Sunggyu and Woohyun weren’t talking, Howon was with them and not Dongwoo, and Myungsoo couldn’t annoy Sungyeol. It was like they were back to square one.
This boring routine repeated for the next few days and Myungsoo had a feeling it was going to be a hell of a long square one.
-
It was Thursday and Sungjong was in desperate need of excitement. Good thing he had movie club - It was a new teacher supervising because Dongwoo with chemicals. They were watching some chick flick PG movie that Sungjong wasn’t even interested in - He didn’t care for any film that wasn’t horror.
About fifteen minutes into the movie, the classroom door opened, letting in a wash of white light, and a student walked in. Sungjong took in his baggy jeans that rode low on his hips, his lack of school tie and bird’s nest hair. ‘West campus.’
The boy took a moment to shut the door with a bang and swaggered to the back row of the room, where Sungjong was. Rather inelegantly, he slithered onto the chair next to Sungjong’s and propped his feet onto the table. Sungjong didn’t move from his position - arms crossed against his chest, leaning back comfortably into his chair - and only averted his eyes to look at the other.
‘Is the movie good so far?’ the boy whispered to Sungjong, his voice deep and hoarse.
Sungjong didn’t turn away from the screen and instead subtly leaned a little to his right and whispered back, ‘I guess so.’
After a few minutes of mindless glaring at the projected screen, eyes glazing over, the deep voice came back to an almost normal volume, ‘What’s your name?’
‘Sungjong,’ he replied, same volume as the other.
‘What Sungjong?’
‘Lee Sungjong,’ he scoffed. This guy seemed a little rude - no surprise, seeing as he came from Woohyun’s school.
‘Junior?’
‘Senior.’
There was a hint of suggestive and mischievousness in the guy’s voice and Sungjong could’ve sworn he was chewing gum, ‘Relationship status?’
‘None of your business,’ Sungjong retorted, unwavering.
Sungjong could’ve pretty much felt the guy smirking beside him.
‘Oh, so you’re single.’
It returned to just sitting and watching the movie quietly, but Sungjong was somewhat distracted. He had to admit that this guy was kind of attractive. Especially that velvety, sex god voice of his. Soon after the so-called climax of the movie, Sungjong felt fingers pressed into his palm, a folded piece of paper along with them.
‘What’s this?’
‘My number,’ the guy chuckled matter-of-factly.
Sungjong unfolded the paper and indeed there was a number of digits sprawled over it in messy penmanship. He nonchalantly placed the paper on the table and returned to his original position. ‘No thanks. I already have a number. I don’t need another one,’ he stated, clearly unmoved.
There was a loud slam and Sungjong jolted out of his seat. He looked down to see the guy had fallen off his chair, ass first. Sungjong clamped a hand around his mouth, refusing to laugh.
‘S - Sure you don’t want it?’ the student stammered, still with his deep voice of his.
Sungjong nodded and giggled, ‘I’m positive.’

During lunch Myungsoo was in a daze, thinking about anything and everything that he didn’t dare to say out loud in front of Sunggyu. Howon was being weird and staring at him again, probably trying to read his mind or something abnormal like that. Who knew what was going on in that guy’s skull. Anyway, Myungsoo began searching for the perfect scheme to get things back to where they were a week ago - Woohyun thinking about Sunggyu everywhere he went, Dongwoo and Howon disappearing somewhere together secretly, and Sungyeol being inhumanely cute by his side. It was fun that way, especially compared to this week. This week had been as boring as watching paint dry.
Myungsoo decided he needed help from an expert - an expert being Sungyeol, the king of reality-defying antics… And he may or may not have wanted to talk to Sungyeol again.
To: Skyscraper
Gyu still won’t talk to me about Hyun -o-
He’d try to talk to Sunggyu about it, but the other had given him one of his death glares until he shut up about Woohyun.
From: Skyscraper
THAT SSSUUUCCCCKKKS! But what’s that? -o- are you a marble with arms or a face without a mouth?
Myungsoo almost laughed out loud. Sungyeol was even absurd over text.
To: Skyscraper
Why are you criticising my Myungsoo-brand emoticon? -o-
After a few minutes of tapping his fingers on the table, waiting impatiently for an answer, Myungsoo’s phone vibrated.
From Skyscraper
-----------ooooooooooooo------------ I’M MYUNGSOO AND I’M A BUTTHEAD
He almost wanted to run around the entire school to find the kid and hug him. Sunggyu rose an eyebrow at his brother’s restraint smile.

It was Friday and Sungjong escaped the torturous silence once again. He had art club where he was allowed to express himself with anything he pleased. Every instance, however, he picked up a paintbrush and the acrylic paints. Half way into lunch time, Sungjong felt a chill up his back as he heard that very familiar voice over his shoulder, ‘That’s good.’
Sungjong looked up and, expectedly, it was the guy from yesterday. He saw him clearly this time because of the light. The guy had a firm build and short, dirty blonde hair that was spike up.
‘Really?’ Sungjong scoffed, ‘What is it then?’
The other looked at the half-done painting again, obviously becoming anxious over his answer. ‘I - It’s… abstract,’ he stuttered briskly, scratching the back of his head. Sungjong cracked a smile at him - Was he nervous to talk to Sungjong? And why was he here? Stalking?
‘You do art too?’ Sungjong proceeded with small talk, dipping his brush into the pale blue and splattering the paint onto the canvas paper. It was supposed to be a bird, but now he was glad to call it abstract.
The other laughed, ‘I can do better than your standard, at least.’
‘I thought you said I was good,’ Sungjong mumbled, pouting as he plunged his brush into the cup of murky water.
‘Yeah, but I’m amazing.’
‘You’re so full of yourself.’
The guy smiled, gums showing proudly, as he commented, ‘You’re tougher than you look.’
Sungjong recalled yesterday, when he fell off his chair right after Sungjong rejected his number, and just before, when he looked nervous to answer Sungjong’s blunt questions. ‘You’re softer than you look,’ Sungjong retorted. This guy really did look badass with his lack of uniform and ripped clothes and leather jacket and messed-up hair that was coloured inappropriately for school.
All he did was watch Sungjong layer on colour after colour. Sungjong didn’t know why he was so fascinated - He wasn’t anywhere near good.
‘Lee Sungjong, ranked eighth. Above average grades in sciences and mathematics. Excelling in literature and history,’ the guy stated as Sungjong walked to the sink to collect fresh water.
Sungjong swiftly turned around, ending up face-to-face with the guy. Sungjong tilted his head and he blinked oddly, muttering, ‘That is so creepy.’
‘I just did a little research,’ the other remarked, stepping back awkwardly as he swiped his nose with his finger.
Sungjong mentally shook his head and carried on with painting. ‘I’m guessing you’re a senior too?’
‘You guessed right.’
Sungjong pressed his lips into a thin line before shooting, ‘Name?’
‘Yongguk.’
‘What Yongguk?’
Yongguk smirked and leaned in to Sungjong’s face, whispering hoarsely, ‘Bang Yongguk.’
‘Gag, you’re a sleaze,’ Sungjong spat, sticking his tongue out at Yongguk as he rummaged for more paint brushes for the latter to use.

Over the weekend, Sungyeol and Myungsoo had successfully devised a plan over text. They decided to enforce the Howon-Dongwoo branch of the plan first, seeing that they were the easiest target. The Woohyun-Sunggyu side of it was a pain. (Both Howon and Sunggyu were too smart, but at least Howon was more lenient with Myungsoo.)
Phase one: Get Howon alone with Sungyeol
Phase two: Make him feel a little comfortable with him
Phase three: Jang Dongwoo
Good thing Myungsoo had physics with Howon fourth period - bad thing that Woohyun and Sungjong were there. Woohyun wasn’t really a problem, but Sungjong was suspicious of everything… Actually he seemed too distracted by something to be suspicious - it was like that since the morning - so that was a plus. As soon as they stepped out of class, Woohyun walked off somewhere, Sungjong went off to one of his many lunch time activities, and Myungsoo threw an arm around Howon’s shoulder and said quietly, ‘Could you help me find Sungyeol?’
Howon crooked an eyebrow and retorted, ‘You didn’t need help before.’
Myungsoo bit his lip. ‘Crap. I forgot I had a GPS built into me.’
‘You and Sungyeol haven’t been properly introduced, right?’ Myungsoo asked after clearing his throat to regain his composure. ‘Let me introduce you two.’
Howon’s refused to take another step. ‘Why?’
Myungsoo smirked to himself and answered, ‘Because he’s one of Dongwoo’s best friends.’
The older immediately followed to wherever Myungsoo was taking him. (The Dongwoo card always worked.) They eventually reached an empty classroom on the third floor, Myungsoo pushing Howon in. Howon was confused - How did Myungsoo get the key to the classroom?
When he looked around the room, he saw Sungyeol sitting on the middle table, smiling happily upon his arrival. Howon was curious so he stepped forth and Myungsoo closed the door behind them with a gentle thud.
‘Gently closing the door - possibly planning to leave in the near future,’ Howon noted as Sungyeol approached him.
Sungyeol sang excitedly, ‘Hi Howon! I’m Sungyeol. What’s your name?’
Myungsoo palmed his forehead. Howon didn’t say anything and looked oddly over at Myungsoo who shook his head with an obviously fake grin, flicking his hand for him to introduce himself.
‘I’m… Lee Howon,’ Howon said warily, inspecting every feature of Sungyeol’s face in detail. He took in the way the area around Sungyeol’s eyes crinkled slightly upon seeing him. Howon could tell it was a genuine smile - the subject of the smile’s motive, however, was still unclear as he needed more time to figure Sungyeol’s objective out.
‘Nice to meet you officially,’ Sungyeol cheered, holding out his hand.
Howon shook his hand and thought, ‘Strong hand shake - Meaning he is ambitious about his intentions, wants to make a good first impression, and/or wants all my attention on him.’ He was beginning to think Sungyeol sincerely wanted to meet him and make his acquaintance, but the quick glance Sungyeol shot Myungsoo behind Howon told otherwise. Sungyeol’s irises wavered - Howon knew there was something behind all of this.
‘I’m going to go to the bathroom,’ Myungsoo declared as he stepped out of the classroom, closing the door somewhat loudly. ‘Either meaning he’s not coming back or he doesn’t want us to leave until he returns,’ Howon thought, returning his attention back to the boy in front of him.
Sungyeol watched Howon’s unfaltering expression and commented, ‘You’re really weird… I like you!’
Howon narrowed his eyes, trying to figure the other out.
‘Are you dating Dongwoo?’ Sungyeol chirped, eyes round and bottom eyelids risen on purpose. Howon was going to analyse Sungyeol’s forced expression in his head, but the mention of Dongwoo’s name made him forget.
‘No,’ Howon answered calmly. Dongwoo did not state that they were dating.
Sungyeol laughed heartedly, ‘Do you want to? I can totally set you two up on a date.’
Howon looked to the glossy classroom floor and pondered, ‘Date?’
Frowning, Sungyeol mentioned, ‘You don’t talk much either… I really like you!’
After a good twenty minutes or so, Myungsoo finally came back to find Howon thinking deeply about something and Sungyeol quietly chattering, although Howon wasn’t listening. He smirked to himself. The plan worked. Sungyeol looked up and saw him, smirking back in accomplishment. Myungsoo knew it would be hard - Howon was so goddamn observant - but Dongwoo made his head run around in squiggly lines, Myungsoo just knew it.
‘Well, this has been fun… Now get out before I get detention for stealing the teacher’s keys,’ Myungsoo said happily, having to push Howon out. The other didn’t seem to really notice until the door was closed.
Howon kept his eyes glued to the ground as he paced off to somewhere Myungsoo and Sungyeol didn’t know about. In actuality, he was heading to the front of the school to where he predicted Dongwoo and Woohyun were.
‘Where is he going?’ Sungyeol mumbled as he saw Howon disappearing somewhere.
Myungsoo patted his shoulder and said, ‘Leave him. We need a plan for WooGyu now.’
-
When Howon reached the front of the school, he strolled along the gate until he sighted Dongwoo, sitting leisurely in the grass by himself. That was weird, where was Woohyun?
A shadow that blocked his shade caught Dongwoo’s attention and he looked up. ‘Oh hi Howon,’ Dongwoo greeted as he saw Howon’s puzzled face. Dongwoo pouted when he didn’t get a reply and asked, ‘What are you thinking about?’
‘Are we dating?’ Howon asked.
If Dongwoo were standing he would’ve fallen over, flat on his face. ‘W - What?’
‘Sungyeol asked me if we were dating.’
‘What did you say?’
‘No,’ Howon replied honestly, recalling the exceptionally odd encounter with Sungyeol.
Dongwoo bit his lip, but smiled nonetheless. ‘Then we’re not dating,’ he answered, admittedly a little disappointed.
Howon sat onto the soft grass beside the older, feeling the warm sun bathing the exposed skin on his face and neck and hands. ‘We can date if you want to,’ he mentioned.
Dongwoo looked at Howon’s face. Howon was looking at Dongwoo’s hand.
‘Do you want to?’ Dongwoo questioned.
‘I don’t know if I want to,’ Howon replied, voice quieter than before. He then stared at Dongwoo’s face and asked back, ‘What do you want?’
‘I want whatever you want,’ Dongwoo chuckled. Howon was adorable.
‘Then you already have what we both want.’
Dongwoo’s nose scrunched up.
‘I want to be happy.’ Howon remembered Dongwoo saying that he was happy.
‘I’m so confused.’
‘Sorry.’
‘Don’t be.’ Dongwoo smiled, intertwining their fingers.
-
Woohyun peeked from behind the wall, at the corner of the intercepting hallway, and saw Myungsoo and Sungyeol walking out of a classroom together, smiling suspiciously. He knew something was going on. After last Friday, he noted to not trust those two when they were together. Alone. Without Sungyeol kicking and screaming. He also noticed Howon walking towards the nearest staircase, a little worried about the fact that he wasn’t looking forward and could possibly break his head on a wall or something.
The two, Sungyeol and Myungsoo, walked off something with Sungyeol laughing like a maniac, twiddling his fingers together. Woohyun leaned his back onto the cream wall and contemplated, ‘What are those up too? If they’re going to mess with Sunggyu and I, then they’ll mess my plan up… I think I should work fast. I need to find Sunggyu.’
Like fate was on his side, Sunggyu emerged, hurriedly walking through the hallway he was standing at. Sunggyu almost jumped out of his skin as he felt a fell shiver up his spine and he found Woohyun pressing his back against the wall. Raising an eyebrow, he gave Woohyun a weird look and tore his eyes away, proceeding to his meeting.
Woohyun didn’t want to miss his chance and latched onto Sunggyu’s wrist, pulling him into the direction of the classroom Myungsoo and Sungyeol were just in.
‘Woohyun, what are you doing?’ Sunggyu gasped, Woohyun pulling him faster than his feet can manage.
‘You’re right,’ Woohyun growled a little creepily. ‘I do want attention and I am desperate.’
The door was easily opened - stupid Myungsoo forgot to lock it, Woohyun remembered - and Sunggyu was practically thrown into the room. Sunggyu registered getting thrusted onto the patch of solid wall beside the whiteboard and bellowed, not knowing what the fuck was happening, ‘That did not answer my question. Nam Woohyun, what are you doing?!’
Woohyun’s head was hung low, his dark eyes half-covered by his fringe. He pressed himself against Sunggyu, cynical smirk gracing at his lips as he inspected the older student’s face - Sunggyu looked absolutely panicky, but still competitive enough to glare at him. This was exactly what Woohyun wanted. He wanted Sunggyu to be completely ticked off.
‘Nam -‘ Sunggyu tried to lecture, but Woohyun forced his parted lips against his. The contact made Sunggyu freeze, his eyes opened as Woohyun’s tongue swirled lazily to find his. It took a second or two for him to realise what was happening and shove the younger away. Sunggyu’s fist balled and that look was back in his eyes, that look Woohyun saw when he was behind the bleachers.
Yes, this was exactly what Woohyun wanted.
Woohyun was on the ground in a split second, blood already oozing from his bottom lip.
However… Sunggyu didn’t move a muscle in that split second. Blinking, Sunggyu saw another boy’s body on top of Woohyun’s, punches being thrown recklessly at Woohyun’s face and chest.
And then Sunggyu realised who it was.
‘Howon?’ Sunggyu exclaimed, reaching out to tug at the younger’s shoulders and make him stop. ‘Howon, stop! It’s okay. I’ll deal with him.’
Dongwoo came running in a second later, eyes widened at the sight of Woohyun on the ground, red and purple splattered over his face. ‘Howon, stop it!’ Dongwoo cried, clutching the younger’s arm. Dongwoo’s voice made him stop, made his arm turn limp in his hand, and he stood up. His hands were dotted with Woohyun’s blood.
Sunggyu let out a massive breath and almost wanted to shoot Woohyun at the sight of the school’s principal appearing at the doorway, probably alerted by all the commotion and screaming and sound of jackass being punched.
‘Lee Howon! Nam Woohyun!’ he yelled, knowing the name Nam Woohyun very well already. ‘In my office now.’
Woohyun licked his lips and tasted blood. He was dizzy from the punching, but still registered the hurt look Dongwoo gave Howon before he approached him. Dongwoo helped Woohyun stand up and Sunggyu scoffed as they slowly staggered out the door.
‘Is this what you wanted?’
