Something cool that just happened is that someone from Texas A&M contacted me to make sure that I was applying for their faculty position. Evidently they've been hearing good things about me through various conversation and think I might be a good fit for what they are looking for in their new faculty. I've been keeping myself busy this year, doing research and got my first publication as primary analyzer

Well, the wife and I went to see the remake of King Kong this evening. Hopefully my butt will recover. I don't know if Peter is capable of making a film under 3 hours any longer. :o) Anyway, in a nutshell, I quite enjoyed the film. I mean, it wasn't without its flaws, but then what isn't?

It's been a while since I've updated but not much has happened. Still keeping the nose to the grind stone at work. Finally got an elastic sample to look at the quadrupole detectors. At first it wasn't looking good, but just yesterday I was able to finally see some correlated hits in one of the spectrometers after fiddling with the mapping a little ( Read more... )

I hate when there are multiple books I'm in the mood to read. I start with one, reading along, enjoying it, but in the back of my mind there is this little voice saying, "You might like the other book more.....".
