5Basic Synopsis: Junsu is an eighteen year old teen who thinks his life is just too boring. Ever since his best friend left the country and he stayed behind, nothing new seems to happen. That is until is friend, Seung Ri, forces him to go on a double date and by chance he meets someone who might make his life fun again.
Changmin said nothing. He kept looking at Junsu while he quickly got up his chair, putting a couple of coins on top of the table, muttering a ‘thanks for the coffee’ and saying that he had to leave. The taller man just nodded, not knowing what to say.
Junsu grabbed his coat and left the shop, embarrassment all over his face after realizing what he said but even worse than that was the fact that being frustrated over the situation made him nervous and at the precise moment he had confessed his feelings, a tear fell and rolled down his face.
He just wished Changmin had missed that moment, although he doubted that to be possible.
After that day, Junsu would not dare to walk past the coffee shop. First of all he was still embarrassed whenever he recalled what had happen and on the other hand, he had no wish to see Changmin, knowing that he would be rejected again. He started thinking that forgetting would be the best thing to do since it would be easier than to keep seeking for forgiveness but no matter how he tried, at the end that revealed to be harder than he had expected.
The memories were everywhere. He could not simply forget him so he decided to ask for help.
“A blind-date? Are you out of your mind?” Seung Ri yelled at Junsu
“Why not? I am not allowed to get a girlfriend?”
“Don’t take it the wrong way, but do you still like girls?”
Junsu tried to look offended by his frend’s remark “Of course I do! Why would you even ask that?”
“So you are saying that you are gay for Changmin only, huh? Well, that is very romantic, I must say.” He earned a glare. A deadly one.
“Don’t talk about him. So, can you get me a blind-date or not?”
“Of course. Give me Changmin’s number.”
Junsu still wondered if he was speaking in some kind of foreign language that could not be understood and then proceeded into yelling at Seun Ri. “I’m serious here!”
“Me too! Why the hell would you want to go out with another person when you clearly like him?”
“I want to forget him” Junsu stated, giving his friend a determined look.
“Oh yeah, dating another person will surely help”
Junsu hated sarcasm. Specially when it was directed at him and made by someone as annoying as Seung Ri, so the boy just glared the best he could at his friend until he had no other option but to agree with what he wanted. Things were settled and Seung Ri got everything ready: the date was appointed to the following weekend, on Saturday and Junsu got anxious.
“So, you have it already, right?” Junsu asked
“You sound so desperate that is making me sick…” Seung Ri looked as his slightly frustrated friend “Yes, it’s settled and don’t worry, you will like her.”
“Where do we meet?”
“At your house” Seung Ri grinned and soon after Junsu just smacked his friend for being so weird. “What? I gave her your address because she already knows you and wants to go there to be sure you won’t stand her up.”
“She knows me? Seung Ri don’t tell me… it’s the weird and boring friend of that… whatever-her-name-is that you wanted to date?”
His friend smilled only and Junsu knew he was screwed.
“You were not specific on our request and I distinctly recall you telling me that anyone was fine, so I got who was availabe. If you are not happy then go to Changmin.
Junsu sighed “Alright, I’ll date her. It’s saturday, right?”
“Yes. 6pm sharp. Don’t make the lady wait for you, dress pretty and avoid saying anything stupid.”
It was okay… he only had to put up with it for awhile. He only needed a distraction, he thought, and even so when Saturday came, he wished he could stay home all day long.
Getting ready for his not so blind-date was tortuous and Junsu just grabbed the first set of clothes he saw on his closet, got dressed and left his apartment, not even looking at the mirror.
He headed to his elevator because for some reason he felt extremely tired and got to the building’s main door, waiting for the girl to show up. After waiting for ten minutes, Junsu for his cellphone, having the intent of calling her and try to know if she was going to take any longer to show up only to recall that he had left it in his room so he decided to go back and get it.
After getting in the elevator and having serious trouble in shutting the door that didn’t seem to want to lock properly, Junsu was surprised when the door opened again, revealing a smiling Changmin.
“What are you doing there?” he asked, cheerfully.
“This is my building’s elevator and I’m going to get something I forgot in my apartment, what’s so strange about that? What I want to know is why are YOU here.”
“I needed to talk with you.”
Junsu sulked slightly and not looking away from Changmin, pressed the button again to shut the elevator’s door. “I’m sorry but I can’t right now. I’m waiting for someone.”
Changmin prevented the door to close once again. It was getting on Junsu’s nerves actually.
“Inside the elevator? Besides, you live on the 2nd floor, so why do you have to take the elevator?”
The younger rolled his eyes. “I am tired - probably because I am getting sick - but that is none of your business.”
“Stay home then.” Changmin said nonchalantly
“Anyway, it’s your fault the fact that I am getting sick so I hope you feel guilty. If I had not wait for you outside your shop with all that rain I wouldn’t be like this.”
“That was a week ago. Your system reacts slowly.”
Junsu wished he could beat him up then. Instead, he just pushed Changmin away and pressed the button to shut the door again, but the taller man quickly got inside the elevator. “I’ll go with you. Then we can go out.”
“What?” Junsu looked at Changmin, his eyes almost scaring the man. “I’m not going with you anywhere. I have a date.” He said, proudly.
“Yeah, I know. You have a date with me. I am your blind date.”
Junsu’s mouth almost fell on the floor and this time he did scare Changmin with a dolphin-like squeek.
Suddenly, the elevator just stopped and the light went out.
“What was this?”
“The elevator stopped” Changmin stated.
“I can see that, but why did it stop?”
“Beats me, I’m not a technician. Maybe the sound waves of your scream afected it somehow. They did afect my ears.” He joked
“Funny. I don’t know why it stopped, but I want it moving NOW!”
Changmin covered his ears this time, looking at a very frustrated Junsu that suddenly started to kick the elevator door. “I don’t know if this things work just because you want them to.”
“I am not going to be here stuck with you! No way!” He said, looking at Changmin. “I know! The security camera, of course! The doorkeeper can see and hear us. Press the emergency button.”
Changmin did as he was told and a few seconds later, a third voice could be heard.
“Mr Kim, hello, the elevator stopped and I got stucked in here. Can you call someone, please? You can see me in the surveillance cam-”
“The camera is not working right now, but I’ll call the technician right away. It might take awhile though but in about an hour he should be here.” The man said, disconnecting the sound signal right away and leaving Junsu to die.
One hour? In an elevator… with Changmin!
“It’s not that long,” Changmin said, interrupting Junsu’s thoughts “and after this we can go out.”
“I don’t want to go out with you!”
“One week ago you were asking me to reconsider going back to you. Did you change your mind?”
“Completely.” Junsu said quickly
Strangely, Changmin kept smilling. “That’s too bad, because your friend’s efforts are going to be wasted.” He said, confusing the boy “Do the names Seung Ri and Yoochun remind you something?”
Junsu nodded.
“Well, it was your friend Seung Ri that called me and made me agree to the blind date. He came to see me and asked if I cared enough about you to prevent him to introduce you to a girl that you might start dating. He told me that you wanted to forget me.”
Now that was embarrassing. “So that means that when I ask, you say no, but when my friends ask you agree to it? Does that even make sense?”
“It wouldn’t if your friend Yoochun had not spoken with me also and asked me to reconsider.”
Junsu was wondering how Yoochun did even get his number and somehow Changmin seemed to guess what the boy was thinking. “He didn’t call me, if that’s what you are wondering. He came directly to me. He came, purposely from the States to Seoul to talk to me and I must say he is a master with words, telling me that you wanted to be with me and that you could not think of yourself without me because I was everything to you and you loved me like you never had and never would love anyone in your life.”
Junsu was complete and utterly embarrassed and blushing like mad, he still managed to look at Changmin. “He told you that?”
“Yes. In a much more poetic way, of course and the “never had and never will love anyone in your life” part was actually added by me since that is what is going to happen anyway.” Changmin said, smiling brightly.
“Well, I might as well not want to go back to you.”
“You might, but that’s not what you feel. Your friends talked to me, that’s a given, but they just confirmed what you told me that day at the coffee shop when you said you loved me. Yes, you hurted me, but when you finally said that you loved me I knew it was real, I knew that it was what you really felt. If you didn’t leave so dramatically, you could have heard the answer you wanted.”
Changmin confused him so much. They were separated longer than they were together so how was he supposed to know if Changmin still wanted him?
“That night we were together meant a lot to me and I know it meant a lot for you too despite what happened. I didn’t sleep with you because I wanted to satisfy my lust. I wanted to love you, to have you with me because I love you and not only because I want you. Can you understand that?”
Junsu let out a sigh “Where did you learn to talk like that? I am supposed to have no choice but to accept you back, right?”
“Like you wanted to reject me…” Changmin quirked a brow and looked at Junsu while leaning forward.
That look, that smile and those lips… everything screamed ‘danger’ and Junsu felt like if he was not trapped inside an elevator with that man, he would have ran away.
“You are too close. What are you doing?” he asked.
“I was thinking about showing you how much I love you right now since we are stuck in here, the technician will take about an hour to come and the surveillance camera does not work. It’s perfect.”
“No, it’s not perfect.” Junsu said, nervously “Besides it’s better if we…”
“I can’t believe you are wearing pink boxers!”
Junsu was still trying to figure out when did the man reached for his pants and trying to reason him out of doing… what he thought Changmin wanted to do at the time. “Changmin, we- I mean, can you try not to be so perver- OH MY GOD!”
Changmin left him breatheless in a matter of minutes and then he just took him by the waist and proped the boy against the elevator wall, smiling at him and playing with his hair, kissing his neck, softly.
“Changmin,” Junsu tried, still breathing heavily “can you hurry up? Because I swear that if you don’t, I’ll have to correct Seung Ri when he calls us ‘MinSu’ couple and tell him to call us ‘SuMin’ instead!”
Changmin smiled. Was there a thing he could refuse his Junsu?
~*~
“Aigoo! I am sorry for the delay” the technician appologized “It must have been hard to wait all this time.”
The man bowed, apologetically while looking at Changmin, that was sitting on the floor - clearly tired - and Junsu, standing, leaning on the elevator’s wall. Both of them smiling like idiots.
Changmin and Junsu finally got out of the elevator and after thanking the man, headed to the younger’s apartment.
Changmin was finally relieved and let out a breathe “That was so close…”
“It’s a good thing that you can put your pants on as fast as you can put them down.” Junsu said, kissing his (once again) boyfriend, tenderly and earning a compliment from him.
“Gosh, I love your lips.”
Junsu looked at Changmin, suspiciously “It was just ten minutes ago Changmin… Can we take it easy?”
“Well, I was thinking about letting you tell me how does the ‘SuMin’ works…”
Junsu smilled shamelessly, while putting his arms around Changmin’s neck and touching it with his lips.
“That is a very interesting idea, Mr. Shim.”
Both of them smiled again, before claiming each other’s lips, softly, with no hurries, no worries, just the two of them like it was supposed to be from the beginning.
Meanwhile, at the building’s main door, the doorkeeper still had not return from his ‘sudden physiological emergency’ that made him leave a very irritated Seung Ri and a completely shocked Yoochun in charge.
“Seung Ri…” muttered Yoochun
“Don’t. Don’t say a single thing, okay? I just want to erase this from my mind! It’s too traumatic.”
“Do you think… Do you think we should tell them that they did not turn the sound of the elevator’s intercom off?”
