I haven't posted in over a month. I was too busy. For the month of October, I was temporarily a workaholic, working more than full-time on a local political campaign. My candidate came in 2nd, unfortunately. It's not the end of the world, though -- it's George Bush getting elected that's the end of the world.

At Folsom yesterday, my boyfriend and I found a lost dog. He held the leash while I went to security. By the time I got back with the security person, the frantic owner had reclaimed the dog. How'd it get to be time for the Folsom Fair already? I ran into a straight friend of mine waiting for the bus in the Castro yesterday and he was confused about the flag that was flying in place of the rainbow flag. I explained that it was the leather flag and it was there for Folsom week.

Things are still going great with T. and me.

This week I have been ushering at Davies Symphony Hall for a Japanese company that is an Amway-style thing to sell prune juice and vitamin supplements. I was in Minnesota for a week. There was a family reunion and I mostly did this. I went pretty much to make my mother happy, and I think she was. The reunion was ok, but most of my relatives are pretty dull. I like the family of my mom's oldest sister. Her son is one of the few extended-family relatives that I'm out to. I hate the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and their closet-case logo of the little yellow equal sign on the blue background and their name which doesn't even mention that they're about gay rights which is ridiculous because they are a single-issue group that doesn't care about anyone else's rights. Saw this film The Corporation yesterday afternoon. It just ended a two-week run at the Castro Theatre. It's really an amazing film about the nature of corporations. Should appeal to fans of Michael Moore (who appears in it) but it has a little more range than his films -- more serious, but also with some subtle humor. I felt a whole range of ( Read more... )
