Well, I've moved. Essentially all of my stuff is here, except one of the scratching posts still at the old place may be mine. Random is still moving, with a significant amount of stuff still at the old place.

Why We Playtest, part II
I playtested my Pheno game for the second time yesterday. It went much, much better. It's runnable at the convention now.
The playtest did still show up some issues, but this time they are tweaks. There were various "How do you handle it if the players do X?" questions from the playtesters, to which the common responses were, "Given the structure of ( Read more... ) -
Why We Playtest
A few nights ago, I had some friends over to playtest my game, to be run at the upcoming Pheno. I knew it was inadequately prepared, really not ready to be run, but I wanted to show Ingrid, while she was in town, that I am making progress.

Unloot
The cheap microwave turned out to not work properly. The turntable didn't turn. So it has gone back to Woolies, my $70 has been refunded, and they were out of cheap microwaves so I couldn't get a different one. I'll have to buy a cheap microwave (that works) somewhere else. Loot, also Free To Good Home
A while back, the glass turntable plate in my microwave got broken, and some time before that the light inside it stopped working (but I hadn't even noticed). Random complained more recently, asking for at least the plate to be replaced and saying that a replacement would only cost $60. Well, I finally got myself an Apple thing. I've gone a lot of years without ever buying anything from Apple, but I decided it was time. My boss gave me a Myers gift card with a fairly large sum of money on it for Christmas, so I put it into an iPad.

Doctor Who, season 5
Well, I'm caught up on Doctor Who now. After seeing two episodes of the latest season on free-to-air TV, then missing the next two, I gave up on it and waited for the DVDs. They were released last week, and I've been steadily churning through the episodes (starting with re-watching the first two).

In the last two days I have received a phone call from one recruiter and an email from another recruiter, each seeking me out in regards to another position they seem to believe I would suit.
