The iris that I saved from the side yard. I think that rather thyan try to overwinter in the pot I'm going to dig up a sedum and put this in its spot in the garden way far our of reach of the weed wacking maniacs. I am dying to know what color these will be when they flower.

Attacked by a Cosmo
Today I discovered that when attempting to prune a flowering plant that is taller than yourself ducking and running is a good idea. I was attacked by a cosmo. I won't even mention the bumble bee. Neither of them get pictures. God, I hope nothing is crawling on me. I guess I'll find out soon enough. LOL

Yesterday I planted the Texas Bluebonnet seeds from cfohunny in the front garden bed. She said in Texas they are basically weeds and the packet said they love to be neglected in poor soil so in my opinion the front bed was the best place for them. Today's Garden Pron
Now I know what baby's breath looks like when it's growing in the yard. I planted a whole bunch of seeds in the bed last year and some this, none grew, unless I pulled them up as being weeds.

Garden Pron
Today it finally dawned on me that the reason some flowers are called cutting flowers is they grow tall. Duhhh. Things are growing pretty well out there. Oh and I have sunflower envy, if such a thing is possible. The neighbor three doors down has a giant one already in bloom in her backyard. I'm jealous. Here are some of mine. Garden Chatter
Well, I think I'm going to have to pull out a bunch of the chinese lanterns because one of my lavendar plants is not visible and I suspect it's being choked out. Haarumf. I went to do it a little while ago but there was a big stinging something sitting on the lanterns and I wasn't getting too close. Morning seems to be the best time to poke around ( Read more... )
