What a crappy choice
My niece has to give up her apartment. It came down to either she pays for her insurance or she pays for her home (apartment). Luckily, she has a family that can help pack and give her a place to live. So today we spent packing her up. holy cow, 50 people?
My night class met for the first time last night. This is a graduate class, thus there are usually low numbers of students. Consequently, I was shocked to find that there are 50 people in this class. Another unusual item is that I am one of five caucasian people in this class. The rest all are of middle eastern origins. I personally don't care ( Read more... ) -
Car part duex
Well, I think I have found an engine to replace my dead one. The engine plus installation will be about $450. I haven't signed off on the deal yet. The engine is still in a car and is drivable. Well, this hasn't been a great summer's end. Awhile a go, my desktop computer (Linux) died. Granted, it was 7 years old and had been moved twice, so it wasn't all that unexpected. New pet.....well, sort of.
Today, I went to throw out some garbage and low and behold, I found a groundhog in our empty garbage can. It saw me and didn't seem to care. It finally jumped out of the garbage can (standard size) on to the edge and jumped down behind it. I tried to lure it out with some bread, but alas was smarter than that. Last night I was in my room when my brother called me into the living room. He was watching CNN about the bridge collapse. I could not believe it. I felt like I was watching a horror flick instead of a real tragedy.

Last night was my niece's benefit. We had a slightly lower turnout than we expected, but every gave from the heart and we made enough money to for my niece to pay bills for awhile. My niece's benefit is this Friday. We are having a golf tournament, a raffle and a silent auction. Amongst all of this is a dinner. Hopefully, we will make enough to my niece won't loose her apartment and car. Since the doctor won't let her work, she hasn't been able to make rent or car payments.
