I will be biking out there from the hellish wastelands of Surrey (roughly following the Expo skytrain) starting at around 3 or 4, so if any of you along that axis want to join me, let me know!

Biking home yesterday, stopped at a red light at Scott Rd. I heard some jeering, looked over, and saw two cars full of goons leaning out the window yelling at me. I could barely hear them above the traffic, but I clearly heard the word 'fag' used extensively. 'Nice bike, fag'!

I must be really hot in spandex, or something.

The deal has gone through, as of June 30th we own a place at 1515 E. 6th.

Recently finished:

• Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell: It's maybe 600 pages too long, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a book that is truly immersive, I found myself missing the characters when it was over.

I guess now we should go find somewhere new to live.

You know, I really don't like Friday the 13th, for two reasons:

• Stupid people insist on making a big deal out of it. "Oooh it's Friday the 13th, you know! Be careful!"


• Nethack has an excuse to act extra mean to you

Composters are strange. A week or so ago I threw in some random rotten veggie matter, and now I have a forest of sprouts of... something. They look like bean sprouts, but I don't remember throwing out any pulses or seeds. Would they be safe to eat? They look delicious, and fresh sprouts are awesome ( Read more... )
