Today I listened to "And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out" by Yo La Tengo for the first time in a couple years. I was struck by how much it sounds like standard college indie fare in places. ABC Family's 12-episode comedy was so clever and funny and well written that I just assumed it would be on for several seasons. I didn't even look for it in the cancellation news, because how could any network ever cancel such a brilliant stream of pop culture references being read by such an amazing young cast. Apple sold their billionth iPhone/iPod Touch app today. I have to say, I love that when you look at the list of the all time best selling apps "iFart Mobile" always somehow makes the cut. There is something hilarious and low class about about it, and it makes me wonder if Steve Jobs stares at the list for 30 minutes every day trying to dream up ( Read more... )

I can pretty much die happy now that this movie has been made in this way by this particular director. Creative gambles coming out of hollywood are so rare, and they inspire the shit out of me. There is stuff in the trailer that makes me want to fall down and never get up again... in a good way.
