Perhaps I'm just ridiculously sentimental, but there are some songs which often bring tears to my eyes. Scotland Rise Again is chief among these. I don't have an ounce of Scottish blood. But the sound of bagpipes is the sound of freedom.

This is largely for those of you with cat experience:

I've been struggling with the decision of whether we should get one cat or two. Our place seems like it might be a little small for two cats, and they would be more expensive to care for than one. But one cat (or kitten) might get bored and lonely while we're both away at work.

Thoughts?

Maria and I will be coming up for Albert and Nancy's wedding, and will therefore require a place to stay for the weekend. We'd prefer to stay with one of you who lives in the area over getting a hotel room, because it's cheaper and means more time with friends. After seeing William's post I decided to take a walk around the lake, as I hadn't done so in awhile. It's really pretty right now and you should all go. Peter helped me add a new LJ icon. It's another crab. I will only have crabs, since nothing else is appropriate for a pair of ragged claws.

Has anyone taken a class on probability theory? I could use some help. I thought the fact that I've taken statistics would have helped, but apparently it doesn't.

Oh yes, and the stars are magnificent when seen from the mountains or somewhere else without city lights. I actually saw constellations besides Orion. It is easy to forget how many stars there are in the sky living in a city.
