Just checked up on the film version of His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass on IMDB.com. Turns out that Tom Stoppard is co-writing the screenplay, Nicole Kidman is playing Mrs. Coulter, Daniel Craig is playing Lord Asriel, and Ian McShane is voicing Ragnar Sturlusson (the new name for Iofur Raknison of the novel).
