Today has been a generally cruddy day. I am irritable, stressed, and generally non-productive. Giving up on writing a coherent paper, I decided to read the latest issue of Star Wars - Rebellion and saw the ad for this:

I need a new pair of pants. I am so looking forward to having disposable income in the near future.

Yep, after much cleaning, packing and gravel shoveling (6.25 tons of gravel is a lot to move around), we finally have our house listed on the market. It is even being seen this afternoon.

One of the downsides to the upcoming move is that SCA-wise Calontir is the only kingdom left that doesn't support some form of fencing... so if I am going to fight, it will have to involve armored combat. Well, after much consideration, I notified UM-R (University of Missouri in Rolla) yesterday that I was accepting thier offer to join the Nuclear Engineering Faculty there. They are very excited to have me (I have already received two emails from the faculty there welcoming me) and I am rather excited about the program and opportunities there. ( Read more... )

How many freaking ants can one laptop hold? I've been squishing them for nearly 45 minutes now, and more keep appearing. Why would ants decide to move into my laptop anyways? I guess it is running Windows ME, so I should have expected a lot of bugs.

For some reason, a small colony of ants decided to make my laptop a home over the weekend. I discovered this unpacking it at work this morning. Now, I am sitting here typing and they are crawling out of the keyboard and ventilation holes and being squished as I see them. University of Missouri in Rolla just called and they are in the process of Fed-Ex'ing me an offer letter to join the Nuclear Engineering Faculty there. This is one step closer to having something concrete. faeflitt and I have been doing a lot of research and Rolla looks very attractive to both of us - she would be able get her PhD in Opera Performance ( Read more... )

So, apparently we tracked down al-Zarqawi last night and dropped two 500 lb bombs on him. Killing him, his spiritual advisor, a woman, a child and two other unidentified people.
