I can't eat, I can't sleep. I am totally wired and anxious thinking about med school applications opening next monday. Totally wired.

People I know are being accepted, and I have never even received an interview. Ever. And I have applied 3 years now. I flunked out of UBC in 1999, and basically it's screwed me over ever since.

At the gym, there is a "fat thing". It is this yellow-y piece of rubber that is supposed to represent how much space 5lbs of fat takes up. It looks like fat. It is glistening yellow and has little red blood-marks in it.

I know it is there to remind people of what the have lost. "Only 5 lbs" looks like a big accomplishment when you see it in that ( Read more... )
