I've now seen most of the first season of Blake's 7. So far I'm still not feeling very fannish about it, even though I have gone looking at some fanfic, mostly to discover that there is not enough Vila fic (possibly only on AO3 - fanlore says that Avon/Vila is a popular pairing. I finally got around to checking out Blake's 7 - I have been meaning to do so since aralias recommended it but somehow there were always other things to do/watch. So far I've seen the first two episodes and I'm *quite* impressed but also surprised - I expected (even though I was told otherwise) that it'd be like Doctor Who of that era, or like a Firefly ( Read more... ) -
The Day of the Doctor
OMG that was awesome. Not so much the episode itself, which was fine though, but the cinematic experience. I've seen people in academia talk about how cinema is a community experience, like theatre, and sometimes, yes, it is, when the movie does it right. And this movie? Did it SO DAMN RIGHT. Thor: The Dark World
Just saw Thor. I think I can say this without it being a spoiler: after two movies in which my reaction to MCU!Loki was "yes... almost", this movie finally gave me the Loki I wanted :) Plus I think it's a cooler movie than the first Thor movie.
