Maybe putting off things you don't want to do would seem more like a negative thing if we didn't have a word for it.
But as it is, you can put a nice little "PROCRASTINATION" label on it and it seems like such a natural thing.
Also, it makes it seem like it is an activity in itself.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh, I'm procrastinating."
Sheesh.

Ahh, Steel Reserve. Reminds me of the family camping trip I went on with Wil (Kurt Cobain, junior division, Look-alike Number 1).
