It took me weeks of planning and figuring out scale, Two days of cutting out the rough outlines of the buildings and making flowers, and countless hours of line drawing and shading to bring the buildings to life. And I think it was all worth it. Dad and Kate both loved it.

Yesterday you likely found an empty grocery bag at your door. This year's "Scouting for Food" drive began yesterday. Empty Food Drive Bags were distributed in the area yesterday and local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will be collecting the hopefully filled bags next Saturday. Please be generous. Here are a few more cakes we did at work. I have photos of a few more that went out but I didn't do anything on them at all. I just made the cakes for J to decorate.

Ok so I'm losing track of when we did stuff at work.

Anyway these two cakes were collaborations between J (my kitchen manager) and myself. She comes up with the designs. I bake, fill, frost, smooth and get to make cool stuff to go on them. J puts all the elements together. We are a great team.

I had a lot of fun doing this one. It is so much fun making something "Look" as real as possible with nothing more then some sugar and your hands.
