What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
For pairing, it’s Xiumin/Luhan and Chanyeol/Sehun. For genre, it’s… smut (het smut though). For fandom, Infinite.
What's your own favorite story of the year?
Hmm. Can I have two? For English, it’s 恋の予感; Never Again. For Tagalog, it’s Dime Por Que.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
(1) Longer fics than my usual 500-1k word count fics in 2012. And it happened to be really long fics, although they usually happened in fic challenges/exchanges (like in KPop Olymfics where I wrote a 13k ChanHun and in Suholiday where I wrote 20.5k SuKai). It wasn’t easy and was really scary. I was scared because I was so anxious about the length and amount of words that I might be off the plot already. But at some point I realized long fics can actually be a really good challenge for me as a writer. (2) Smut. I wrote smut in 2013 and it was as scary as long fics because I totally had no idea about the porn language. Maybe I should try more in 2014? Practice makes better, they say. I believe so. (3) Tagalog fics. I am so amused at how most fics were well received by Filipino readers (and at certain moments, by non-Filipinos, too).
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year?
(1) Finish a Tagalog series. I started with Dime Por Que, a Tagalog war AU. It’s like the Tagalog version of Basara only tweaked. (2) Better appreciation of non-crack Tagalog fics whether in pure Tagalog or not. I have observed it in Dime Por Que and Tea For Two which are both angst Tagalog fics (Tea For Two may or may not be a different case because it was badly written I am sorry). There is a huge difference between the number of comments they received compared to my usual extreme crack + fluff ones (note: I believe comments aren’t the only basis for measuring feedback but it’s one of the easiest ways to see how your audience receives the work that’s why I like it when people comment on fics!). (3) Improve my English-writing skills. Like really. Improve it. A lot. (4) Diversify especially in pairs. I wrote a lot of Suho/D.O. (and I guess it’s obvious because it’s my top OTP) but I want to try other pairs too. It may not be easy because I’m not really familiar with the dynamics of some pairs but that is basically the challenge so, yeah.

And the Tagalog mini-series of doctor!Chanyeol who circumcises kid!EXO. It isn’t done yet but the hell why did I even think about writing it? And also, Senpai Noticed Me because it’s Suho/Roy Kim!

Fix You mainly because the plot calls for a really long fic and it’s model AU (I hardly know anything about the modeling world)
