Over the past year or so apricotica and I have nurtured and developed a benign chemical dependence on coffee. So not every DMV office in the area has Saturday hours. Fair enough. The ones that do are each only open one Saturday each month. OK, I can work with it. It's the same Saturday for every office--i.e., not today. WTF? Time to rethink how this whole repair and registration thing will work.

I got in a car accident on the way home from work. How the other guy managed to be driving too fast and not watching where he was going in the middle of stop-and-go traffic on [the] 101 is beyond me. This place is slowly becoming home. By which I mean, of course, that it is accumulating gadgetry. The internet connection is up, apricotica's and my computers are mostly set up (though hers needs a wireless adapter before it can be particularly useful), and our washer and dryer were delivered a couple of hours ago. First day of work. The day got off to a rocky start as I had to dig through several boxes to find decent work clothes, exchange faxes with our realtor, wade (unsuccessfully) through AT&T's support line to figure out why we don't have DSL yet, and move my car for the PODS guy who arrived before the scheduled window. Today the cat and I left Tucson with no plans to return any time soon. I haven't quite wrapped my head around the fact that I didn't just go to California for a brief visit.
