To the readers and writers for this round of Kaisoommer,
It has truly been a pleasure to work with you all this year. From the encouraging comments I read on Twitter to the lovely fics I got to read bits of while posting, you all have constantly reminded me how much I love running this exchange. To see the wide range of reactions from you all, to see that people actually looked forward to postings every day-all of it made me feel overwhelmingly lucky to have been able to bring smiles to the faces of so many people. This, of course, is the reason Kaisoommer exists, because where would it be without all your support?
As some of you may know, though I tried to keep it on the down-low as best I could (which was not very well at all, I think), I ran the exchange alone this year (of my own volition). As some of you may also know, I have been thinking about leaving the next round of this exchange in someone else's hands, because to be honest, as rewarding as this work is, it's difficult and time-consuming and I am no longer as involved with fandom as I used to be. Because of this, I made a lot of mistakes this year (although definitely less than last year, I'd like to think), some of which still haven't been corrected (but will be shortly after this post). I'd like to apologize to everyone for the link problems, the delays in postings, the formatting errors; for your patience and understanding, I am also sincerely grateful.
But alas, this isn't quite the place for a long, heartfelt, possibly-goodbye letter; if you ask me why I still included it here, I don't really know. I felt like I had to at least mention it in the last post of this round, though a random letter may pop-up sometime this year, who knows. And so we move on:
Though I'm sure everyone is sad that postings are over, there's no denying that all of you have been waiting for the reveals of this exchange! Thank you to everyone who made this exchange as fun as it was this year: the participants, who were especially cooperative this year and who wrote beautiful pieces; the readers, whose excitement brought life to this event; to the Kai to my Soo jongn for posting like 500 tweets when I was sick and dying; to our pinch hitters (some of whom wish to stay anonymous, and are therefore not mentioned) aerinikolai, k-popped, and actualbaekhyun, as well as coxy132, rayofshinee, and carrotclarinets for writing a pinch-hit fic on top of their assignment (shoutout to saemriel for writing a surprise fic for everyone out of the goodness of their heart <3) (also I may have missed some pinch-hitters due to a lack of organization; feel free to yell at me on Twitter if I missed you and I apologize in advance!); to the many participants who I formed a bond with this round over yelling and dumb, semi-and/or-borderline-professional jokes on Twitter; finally, to the original co-founders of the exchange, the great stars_in_love and my darling jesstoast.
You have all been wonderful, and if this really is my last round as Modperor, then I will remember you all very fondly; in return, please remember my trumpets and fanfare and dumb jokes about Happy Feet.
