Disclaimer: Yeah...well...I wish I owned them, but I don't.
Summary: The storyline starts from when the original Hey!Say!7 guest-starred on Shounen Club and moves on from there. It’s a Takaki-centric fic that follows him from the previously mentioned point on as he experiences the pros and cons of being one of the oldest members of the then-newly-formed Hey!Say!JUMP and his interactions with his new bandmates, particularly one Yabu Kota.

He felt calmer than usual.

Sure, it was the Music Station Super Live, the biggest live television performance of the year. Sure, he and Yabu hadn’t spoken privately since that day in the Jimusho practice room and Daiki was STILL trying to get the details from it, despite it having happened close to three weeks ago.

But somehow, it didn’t bother him at all.

“Will you wait for me, Kota?”

“…forever, if I have to.”

Somehow, just knowing that made him feel at peace.

“YUUYAAAAAAAANNN!!!!” A small figure barreled into his side.

Takaki grinned. “Hey, Chii.”
“Yuuyan, Yuuyan!” Chinen cried, leaping up and down in excitement. “Did you hear? Yama-chan said Yuto said that that Okamoto-kun said that Hikaru said that Yabu-kun said that Akanishi-kun said that Matsumoto-kun said that Julie-san said that Johnny-san said that one of the members of Arashi will be showing up at our debut concert! Do you think it’s true? Do you, do you, do you?”

Before he could even BEGIN to wrap his head around that speech, he was up, Chinen dragging him along as he continued to scream about it (What if it’s Ohno-kun, Yuuyan? Think of the possibilities!).

Takaki looked up, managing to snatch a glance at Yabu’s bemused expression as he watched Chinen drag ‘Yuuyan’ down the hall.

He grinned back. Some things will never change.

“I’m sorry,” Hasshi murmured, scuffing his foot against the floor nervously.

He blinked. “For what?”

Hasshi took a deep breath. “Kamei was upset that you and Inoo and Dai-chan hadn’t told us and he was crying and Shoon was hy himself and Taiyo was gone and Kamei and I were alone and none of us have a group anymore and I was never really mad at you guys but I felt so lost and Kamei was so sad and I didn’t know who’s side to take and you never looked our way anymore and you have BEST now and we don’t have anyone and I’m so sor-”

Takaki pulled him into a hug. “Stupid. Why’d you wait until the Super Live to tell me?”

Hasshi sniffed as he hesitantly returned the hug. “Because I was afraid that you didn't miss me as much as I miss you.”

“You don’t hate Akanishi-kun anymore?” Daiki asked incredulously.

“Not really,” Takaki replied, slipping on a pair of red slacks. “I went to grab a cup of coffee with him the other day.”

“Why?”

“Why what?”

“Why the hell did you do that?”

He wanted to laugh. “Because he’s my friend, Dai-chan. Duh.”

Daiki just stared.

“He doesn’t bother me, Dai-chan,” Takaki continued, buttoning up the white collar shirt. “I don’t know if he ever really did.”

“Liar.”

“Seriously!”
“Liar.” Daiki replied, pulling the red vest off the hanger. “Or weren’t you there when a certain Takaki Yuya was blathering on and on about looking up assassins in the phone book?”

“I really said that?”

“You really said that.”
This time, he did laugh. “So maybe I was a little upset with him.”

“Little?” Daiki asked, lacing up his shoes. “Little is saying that Chii-chan just might like Ohno-kun. Little is saying that Nishikido-sempai might be a demon. Little is saying that KAT-TUN’s Real Face might have been a hit. Face it, Yu-chan, you wanted to chain Akanishi-kun to an anvil and drop him into the Pacific.”

Takaki shrugged. “Things change.”

“What changed?” Daiki prodded. “You’re not giving me any details here.”

Takaki glanced behind him at an old Ya-ya-yah poster taped to the wall, his eyes finding a certain face directly in the center. “I changed. For the better.”

Kamei stared at him. Then Hasshi. Then Takaki. Then Hasshi again.

“You know, I wasn’t mad,” Takaki whispered. “I never did. I’m just sorry that I didn’t say goodbye.”

“I’m not upset about that,” Kamei replied. “I’m just afraid that you wouldn’t want to be my friend if you knew.”

Takaki wrapped an arm around him reassuringly. “It’s okay, you know. I won’t hate you if you want to move on.”

It doesn’t mean I won’t love you or Hasshi any less.

“I’m sorry to pop this up just before the performance,” Julie said, slipping a copy of the script into his hands. “It’s not for another couple weeks. You don’t really have to worry about it yet.”

Takaki flipped through it curiously. “Gokusen 3?”

She nodded. “The Gokusen series did wonders for Matsumoto-san, Kamenashi-kun, and Akanishi-kun’s careers. We were thinking that maybe it would do some good to have a few of our younger actors try at it as well.”

Hikaru said something about this, Takaki remembered. Something about wanting to try out for this. And…something about some Kansai group trying out too…right?

“A couple of our other talents are trying out for it as well,” Julie continued. “You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.”

Takaki paused. It was true. He didn’t really have to try out for it. He had enough to do as is.

But for some reason, a memory of the first Hi!Hey!Say! episode and how well it went kept popping up in his head. How he had sung his heart, hoping beyond hope that he could help make this day that much better for Yabu and Hikaru. How happy he had felt to be surrounded by so many fans and so many of his old friends. How proud he had been of Yabu for this achievement.

And how he hoped that someday, he could make Yabu proud of him as well.

Takaki grinned. “I’ll think about it.”

[~/-/~]
“Thank you!”

“Thank you so much!”

“Thanks, everybody!”
He grinned, falling into step with Yabu as they exited the stage.

“What’d you think?” His fellow JUMPer asked, still controlled despite the nature of their achievement. “Was it great?”

“In a word, awesome.” Takaki replied, laughing as he pulled his friend into a bear hug. “We did it, Ko-chan! We really did it!”

“So was this everything you wanted?” Yabu asked, his voice muffled by Takaki’s shoulder. “Is this the forever you’ve been looking for?”

“Not the performance, Ko-chan. That was only a passing thing,” He said, his arms tightening around the other boy. “But I did find it. It just took me a long time to realize it.”

“What is it?” Yabu asked. Takaki shrugged and pulled him into a quick kiss.

Sorry, Kota, he thought, grinning as he pulled away and stole a long, satisfying glance at the rather star struck teenager. But I can’t tell you now. You were right, the world won’t let us have this just yet.

“Too bad, Yabu,” Takaki replied, turning around and sprinting away. “You’re going to have to try a little harder if you want to find out!

“Takaki Yuya!” Yabu yelled, snapping back to his senses. “Takaki, get back here right now, you idiot!”

Takaki grinned, throwing a quick look over his shoulders at the seventeen-year-old hot on his heels.

It’s your eyes, Kota, he wanted to say. In your eyes, I found my forever.

~"YUUYANNN!!!!" Chinen wailed. "YUUYAN, HE DIDN'T COME!!!"

Takaki rolled his eyes. Some things will never change.
A/N: It's over.
What the heck am I supposed to do with my life?!?!?!?
Okay, first of all, I want to thank Kiyumi-chan. From around chapter four on, she started beta-ing for me and she's amazing. Our conversations together are always weird beyond belief and I love every second of it. And this fic wouldn't have been anything without her.
Secondly, I want to thank you guys, the readers. You make me laugh, you make me smile and you always know exactly what to say. I don't write half as well as you guys say I do...but thanks for saying it anyway, ^_~.
Now, to the future.
Everyone has told me that they wanted either option two or option three (if you don't know what I'm talking about, click on chapter twelve and scroll down to my A/N...do it....doooooo itttttt....). So I thought about it. And I did number two.
However, that doesn't rule out option number three.
With this epilogue, I feel a huge sense of finality about this fic. And I don't quite know if I could do it justice by writing a sequel. But there's a chance for a sequel. After all, I didn't write a true end for the pairing.
So have hope!
I won't stop writing though. This fic has been liberating in ways you guys will never imagine. In the time that I wrote this fic, I got my heart broken, I got stressed to the point of near numbness, my mom's tumor got bigger, and my insomnia got that much worse. But in the time that I wrote this fic, I also got featured in a newspaper, I went to Harvard for a month, I met the most amazing guy I will ever know, I learned to forgive myself, I fell in love, I became more comfortable with myself, I got my 'big brother' back, I learned how to talk to one of my best friends and actually get her to listen, and I learned that maybe I'm a bit talented.
I love writing with all my heart. It's one of the few things that makes me feel like I truly live (and the reactions you guys give me help a little bit, ^_~). So I'm going to keep on writing on LJ. I think it's my good luck charm. More specifically, I think you guys are my good luck charm.
So I've got a couple projects I've been thinking about. I'm going to write an InooDai smut fic for my dear musie muse for Christmas (expect it near the end of October...she's getting a Yabuchii shop pic for me. for Christmas. *_*. *FLAILS!*. KIYUMI-CHAN, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!), I'm going to write an anniversary fic for HSJ (...if I get the inspiration soon!), I want to write a prequel fic for this fic(dedicated to my original favorite pairing...that's right, KOYARYO FOR DEH WIN!), and I have something else to say.
I'm opening my writing up to requests. So send me ideas. Send me anything you guys want me to write. All I ask is that there's a pairing (if any...or just put in characters and their relationship, whether it be friendship, romantic, hinted, fuck buddies *wink*, anything) and a theme or summary for me to write about. Call it my gift to you guys. Believe me, I owe you so much more. So thank you.
