Two days from now, I'll be buzzing around the speedway on the new GSX-R600.

Even after all these years, it's hard to believe I'm paid to do it. Without question, it's still the best side job in the world :)

Last week, I did a 50 mile loop on the road bike. With less weight to tow around and more leg strength to tow it, I was climbing as well as I ever had, staying out of my seat longer and standing on my pedals every chance I had. Training feels as good as it ever has right now ( Read more... )

Cool: I finished 2nd in my class in a downhill mountain bike race last weekend

Not that cool: There were only two people in my class. I would have had a solid midpack finish if I raced a division up, so I'm not too bummed.

Great: I weighed in at 163 lbs last week, 17 lbs down on my New Years weight

In the never-ending quest to shed time off of my runs, I took a Chi-Running clinic with some friends of a couple of weeks ago. I read the book before attending, but after working with the instructor, it really began to click.

I remember the worst time I ever had on a motorcycle. It was around 1 AM, pitch black, and miles from civilization. I was almost hallucinating, fighting to stay awake, about 700 miles into a 1000 mile ride.
