I am getting really sick of people bashing the health care bill. I am not saying it is perfect but the vast majority of the provisions in it are significant improvements over the existing insurance system and hardly constitute a conversion to socialized medicine. It's official, Alissa and I will be hosting a poker game on Saturday, August 8th.

We will open up the doors at 7pm and games will start at 8pm. Buy-in will be $10.

Is it wrong that I really just don't care about my birthday at all anymore? People keep asking me (primarily Alissa and my Mom) what I want / want to do for my birthday, and I really can't think of anything in particular that I want or want to do. So things with Alissa have been progressing slowly but steadily. While it seems like almost every other day we discover some new symptom that she is no longer feeling, her overall progress has been about as slow as we were told it should be. So Alissa has come through the surgery and there have been no complications this far. She was in quite a lot of pain the first few days but that mostly ended once we got her home, last Sunday. Now that the initial pain from the surgery has mostly faded we can start to gauge how effective the surgery was for relieving her symptoms from before, ( Read more... )

And why has no one told me this before. I don't know why but I think this is hilarious.

So I felt I should post a follow up to my previous entry. We ended up not going to the doctor's appointment in the end, she fell asleep and when I woke her to leave an hour or so afterward it was obvious that she was too tired and in too much pain to go. So it's 5:45am and I am leaving for long island to take Alissa to a neurologist in an hour. I haven't slept and won't get to anytime soon. We were supposed to go up last night so that we could make her 8:45 appointment with ease (we had a hotel room reserved and everything) but Alissa refused to even discuss our plans until 3am!
