This is one of 45 hens who arrived at the sanctuary a week ago. They are from a cage-free egg laying operation that had about 10,000 hens. These ladies were going to be killed at the young age of 2 (they can live another 10-15 years). They have been debeaked.

Who leaves a 4' foot fish, still alive, gasping for air out in a communal driveway? My neighbors, that's who. They fail at life in so many ways, this is but one.

Super secret time: I believe chickens should have arms. Like little T-rex arms. Rawr! I once considered making arms for a few of the chickens at the sanctuary, but my fellow staff members shot that idea down.
