I bought a bunch of books today, many of them "classics" (For whatever that's worth). Part of the problem I have with some editions of classics is that the people who write the introductions seem to assume that their readers are already intimately familiar with the material. I watched The Thin Man several days ago. It's a good film, filled with snappy banter and heavy boozing. And I mean, really, really heavy. People seemed to drink more back then.

I picked up the new mountain goats album, and I've been listening to it all day. San Bernadino is a great song. Lovecraft in Brooklyn, not so much.
