Sophia was sick last Thursday and Friday, and today is a snow day...soooo a 5 day weekend for me! I never knew having a kid would be such a good way to avoid work haha. -

I'm running around like my head's cut off trying to pack/clean/etc before driving to my mom's tonight. I'm soooooo looking forward to a week off of work, if only to be able to sleep late every morning. I also feel the need to get out of this town for a little while. Sophia went to spend the weekend with her father this weekend. Usually I really enjoy these weekends alone because I can relax, diffuse some of the stress that's been building up, and get some cleaning and other errands done. I love being woken up on Thanksgiving morning by my 6 year-old whispering excitedly in my ear, "Mom. Mom! You've GOT to see outside. It's amazing!"
We just got the first snow of the year. It's only about 3-4 inches, but it's gorgeous, and I love how it evokes pure joy in Sophia. What a perfect day.

There's a dead mouse in my kitchen!!!! Just in time for Thanksgiving, too. It's reeking worse by the hour. I'm so angry right now...at my sister and my parents for raising such a spoiled brat. My little sister (she's 16) has been spoiled her entire life. It never used to bother me much because my stepdad was extremely abusive when I was growing up towards me and my mom, and I was just thankful she was spoiled rather than abused like I was.
